WWE star Brock Lesnar

With continued speculation that Brock Lesnar could be heading towards WWE retirement later this year, fans remain split on his potential opponent.

While there are some obvious choices, there are also some storied rivalries that might come back around as Brock Lesnar looks to wrap up an over 20 year career in WWE.

Here are six potential final opponents in WWE for Brock Lesnar.

6. GUNTHER

With his recent streak of ending careers in WWE, it could be that GUNTHER winds up being the actual last opponent for Brock Lesnar.

Taking his reputation as “The Career Killer” to new heights if he were to be the one the retire Lesnar, GUNTHER already has an impressive resume.

Having been the final opponent of Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles already, adding Brock Lesnar to the list would be a huge accomplishment.

Potentially adding Brock Lesnar to this list, GUNTHER could end up being the one to end his storied career in WWE.

5. Roman Reigns

With an entertaining series of matches with one another dating back over a decade, there may still be ground left to cover between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

With the common thread of Paul Heyman linking the two legendary careers together, there are certainly plenty of stories left to tell.

Able to bring together their past showdowns and character iterations into a brand new feud, it would interesting to see the pair come together again.

Bringing a historic end to Lesnar’s career, Roman Reigns could continue to assert his dominance in WWE despite a variety of up and coming challengers.

4. Cody Rhodes

It could be that on his path towards retirement, Brock Lesnar will have more run-ins with familiar foe Cody Rhodes.

While the pair already engaged in a trio of bouts with one another in 2023, Rhodes leads the series overall at 2-1.

However, if they were to cross paths again in the future, it could certainly be a demoralizing for Rhodes to fall victim to Lesnar yet again.

With an uncertain future for Cody Rhodes as he continues to take battery from Randy Orton and Pat McAfee, another round with Brock Lesnar could be a compelling swan song for “The Beast.”

3. Oba Femi

With Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar planned to have a match at WrestleMania 42, it could certainly be that their feud isn’t a one and done.

Rather than meet a swift end at the hands of a brand new opponent, Brock Lesnar could end up besting Oba Femi in Las Vegas, only to lose to him in spectacular fashion later in his final match.

Given the interest in their first meeting at WrestleMania 42, it’s not hard to imagine WWE being tempted to extend the feud well into the year.

Certainly one of the names that would benefit most from retiring Brock Lesnar, it could be that Oba Femi hasn’t seen that last of “The Beast” after WrestleMania 42.

2. Bron Breakker

One match that WWE fans have continued to want to see is Bron Breakker taking on Brock Lesnar.

The pair’s only meeting thus far was as teammates in WarGames at Survivor Series, but there could certainly be more interesting stories to tell between the two when Breakker returns from injury.

Given that both are aligned with Paul Heyman, Breakker could look at Lesnar as a distraction for his “Oracle”, taking his attention away from The Vision business.

Breakker taking Lesnar out, without permission from Heyman, could lead to the WWE Hall of Famer being forced to choose either his long-time friend, or the future of the wrestling business.

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin

A frequently cited dream match, there could potentially still be time for a singles bout between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Brock Lesnar, although the window is certainly closing.

An interesting tidbit of WWE history is that Brock Lesnar was in part the catalyst for Stone Cold’s famed walk-out of the company in 2002. After being pitched to lose to Lesnar on an episode of WWE Raw in a King of the Ring Qualifier bout, Austin’s frustrations with creative direction and growing burnout led him to walk out.

While the pair would have a run-in later before The Beast’s battle against Goldberg at WrestleMania XX, there has still never been an actual singles match between the two legendary names.

With retirement looming for Lesnar, perhaps there could still be a way to see these two icons square off in the ring – in what could be the final bout of both their careers.
