At WWE Clash In Paris 2025, Seth Rollins defeated CM Punk, LA Knight and Jey Uso to retain the World Heavyweight Championship thanks to Becky Lynch with a low blow to Punk.
This made way for reports, rumors and teases that Punk’s wife and former WWE star AJ Lee is set to make her return for a showdown with Becky and Seth.
With Punk hinting at an appearance on the September 5 edition of SmackDown, it looks like a reunion with Lee might be happening in his hometown of Chicago to set up a bout at WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025.

6. CM Punk Makes A Plea To AJ Lee
AJ Lee has not competed in a WWE ring since 2015 following her retirement.
Despite stepping back in the squared circle for the TV show, “Heels,” fans have been wondering for the past decade if they would ever see AJ make her return.
While CM Punk has a big issue with both Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch now, it might be a difficult decision for Lee to lace up the Chuck Taylors again.
The September 5 episode of SmackDown might see Punk make a plea to his wife to get back in the ring to team with him against Rollins and Lynch.

5. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch Convince AJ Lee To Come Out Of Retirement Instead Of CM Punk
The September 1 edition of WWE Raw featured a heated in-ring promo exchange between CM Punk and Becky Lynch.
The segment closed with Lynch slapping and taunting Punk as “The Second City Saint” walked off in anger.
With Punk teasing an appearance on SmackDown in Chicago, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch could beat him to the punch and show up before he does.
If Punk has his wife in attendance for the show, Rollins and Lynch could taunt the former WWE Divas Champion to get under Punk’s skin and motivate AJ Lee to step back in the ring.

CM Punk’s tease of an appearance on Friday Night SmackDown has led to even more reports and rumors that his wife AJ Lee could make her return to WWE.

Rollins and Lynch could show up in Chicago before the hometown hero and eventually get their spotlight stolen by Punk and Lee, who come out as a united force against The Vision.
