AEW Stars To Join New Jon Moxley Faction

With a potential shift in character ahead for Jon Moxley in AEW, there could be some brand new alliances formed as well.

From former foes that could forge new alliances to old partnerships that could be revisited, there are some top prospects for AEW stars that could join forces with Mox.

Here are seven AEW stars that could join a new Jon Moxley faction.

7. Brody King

One star that had a remarkable run as a babyface in AEW in 2025 was Brody King.

After the departure of Malakai Black back to WWE coupled with Buddy Matthews’ injury, King could have easily been left behind without a storyline.

However after creating a new and compelling tag team with Bandido, the pair would go on to capture not only fan support but also the AEW Tag Team Championship before losing them later to FTR.

Possibly looking for his next steps, King could find himself recruited to a brand new stable led by Moxley.

6. Kris Statlander

Although she has captured the AEW Women’s World Championship on her own, Kris Statlander may be wise to consider joining a new Jon Moxley stable.

While Kris Statlander had rebuffed the recruitment from the Death Riders in the past, perhaps if Moxley were striking out on his own she would be more interesting.

Particularly if Moxley’s new group ended up having more of a babyface presentation but with an edge, Statlander could be a great addition from the AEW Women’s division.

Linking up with a new group of rogue but righteous actors trying to take over AEW, perhaps there could be a new iteration of Stat’s character still to be revealed.

5. Eddie Kingston & Ortiz

Since the return of Eddie Kingston, “The Mad King” has made his presence felt in a big way after being out of in-ring action for over a year.

Reuniting recently on-screen with Ortiz, Eddie Kingston could find himself linking back up with another former friend turned sometimes foe in Jon Moxley.

If Moxley moves on to start a brand new group, he would wise to call in reinforcements from the pair of veteran lovers of violence.

Seemingly most effective if tapped to take on Moxley’s former Death Riders faction, aligning with Kingston & Ortiz could lead to a lot of fun new storylines.

4. Buddy Matthews

Out of action for most of 2025, there could be a big year ahead in 2026 for Buddy Matthews.

Potentially returning from injury to a new faction, it could be that Matthews forms a brand new alliance when he does make his way back to AEW.

Linking up with Jon Moxley and particularly if the pair were fighting as babyfaces could be a remarkable albeit unexpected twist for the character.

Able to link up with Brody King (and possibly even Bandido too), the new group could end up making for a major threat to the potentially PAC or Claudio Castagnoli led Death Riders.

3. Roderick Strong

A future ally that could come from an unlikely source might be Roderick Strong.

With the intriguing relationship between Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir interfacing with Shafir being acknowledged in storyline as being married to Roderick Strong — perhaps there is more to come from the trio.

Since Kyle O’Reilly is out of action due to injury, Strong could be used in a really interesting storyline.

Given Strong’s veteran status and widely acknowledged in-ring excellence, it would be amazing to see what an even grittier and more unleashed version of Roddy could be.

2. Swerve Strickland

An interesting alliance that could spring forward if Moxley were to depart the Death Riders could be with Swerve Strickland.

With both men no stranger to taking a ‘by any means necessary’ attitude to competition in AEW, there could be both mutual understanding and respect between the pair.

Possibly looking to move on from his Death Riders faction and work towards a more righteous way of living by leaving the group.

With Strickland having served as a blueprint for fan engagement driving a dastardly heel into being squarely a fan favorite babyface, Moxley could follow suit.

1. Darby Allin

While they may have had some vicious battles in the past, it is possible that there could be a future alliance between Jon Moxley and Darby Allin.

With Allin certainly no stranger to taking things to the extreme, there could be some understanding between the pair reached through an emotional storyline.

While they are in different points in their careers, there could certainly be similarities drawn between the two dedicated performers with both clearly having pledged undying allegiance to AEW.

With an alliance between Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland already proving that major foes can have a working alliance — perhaps the same will be said for Darby and Mox in the future.
