AEW Stars To Join Jon Moxley Death Riders Faction

Last September, the Blackpool Combat Club in AEW morphed into The Death Riders as Jon Moxley turned heel on former partner Bryan Danielson.

Moxley’s refashioned faction of Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, and Marina Shafir has been a dominant presence on AEW programming ever since.

However, the group’s lineup has remained unchanged since its inception.

With Moxley heading into AEW’s biggest show of the year to defend his title against Hangman Page, he could look to add new backup to the unit – here are some potential new additions to The Death Riders.

5. Kris Statlander

On the June 21 edition of AEW Collision, Kris Statlander had a backstage encounter with Jon Moxley.

While venting about her position in the company, she was surprisingly met with words of encouragement from Moxley, leaving her visibly reflecting on what he said.

The 29-year-old’s on-screen frustration mirrors her recent lack of direction in AEW.

With this intriguing storyline tease, could we soon see Statlander join Moxley’s Death Riders faction?

4. HOOK

At the Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing, HOOK made a brief appearance to aid the babyface team against the Death Riders.

However, his involvement seemed to plant the seeds for a potential feud with his faction partner in The Opps, Samoa Joe.

A heel turn for HOOK feels imminent, and aligning him with the Death Riders could be the perfect way to make it happen.

Though currently sidelined with a concussion, his return could potentially come with a surprising transition into Moxley’s crew.

3. Shayna Baszler

Shayna Baszler was released by WWE in May.

A unique presence who brings an unmistakable air of legitimacy to her work, it’s hard to imagine the two-time NXT Women’s Champion staying unsigned for long.

A contract offer could very well come from AEW.

Given her background as a pro-MMA fighter — and her long-standing friendship with Marina Shafir — a move into the Death Riders seems like an ideal landing spot.

2. Josh Woods

Josh Woods is currently part of the Premier Athletes faction on ROH programming, alongside Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari.

While the group is an entertaining lower-midcard act, there’s clearly more that could be done with Woods in AEW.

Charismatic and boasting a legit, MMA-influenced moveset, he fits the gritty, intense vibe of the Death Riders.

If the faction were to expand, Woods would be a perfect candidate to join their ranks.

1. Gabe Kidd

At New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Dominion show on June 15, Gabe Kidd defeated Yota Tsuji to capture the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship.

Something that may have gone unnoticed — until pointed out by commentator Chris Charlton — was the Death Riders symbol on Kidd’s trunks.

While not formally a member, the British star has already aided the group, helping Jon Moxley retain his title in the cage match with Samoa Joe and joining them for Anarchy in the Arena at AEW Double or Nothing.

The question now is whether Kidd’s choice of ring gear was foreshadowing a full-time move into the Death Riders.
