With Jon Moxley’s status as leader of the Death Riders potentially under serious threat, we could soon see the four-time AEW World Champion turn a new leaf in 2026.
From current members of the group to old friends and foes alike, there could be some interesting new allies on the horizon for Jon Moxley as he fights his former faction.
Here are five AEW stars to join Jon Moxley against the Death Riders.
5. Eddie Kingston
Since the return of Eddie Kingston, “The Mad King” has made his presence felt in a big way.
However, it could be that a reunion with Jon Moxley could be coming in the event that Mox is ousted from the Death Riders.
Assuming there is some form of hostile takeover that sees one to all of the other members of the Death Riders turning their back on Mox, it could be that he finds his only friend in Eddie Kingston.
With the duo able to join forces to topple the on-going reign of terror of the Death Riders, Kingston could prove the perfect partner for Moxley.

4. Wheeler Yuta
A longstanding ally (and victim) of Jon Moxley has been Wheeler Yuta, which might explain why he could end up displaying loyalty in the face of adversity.
With Yuta being an original disciple of Moxley in the Blackpool Combat Club, it could be that if Mox is out, Yuta follows suit.
Still possibly set for his own redemption story in the face of an eventual split with Mox, Yuta also could go on his own crusade against any member of the Death Riders he deems responsible for their implosion.
Perhaps targeting PAC after his return has seemingly been one of the final straws in Mox’s leadership, Yuta could also place blame on Daniel Garcia as the last member to join.

3. Buddy Matthews
One AEW star who has been out of action for most of 2025 is Buddy Matthews.
Potentially returning from injury sometime in the new year, it could be that Matthews forms a brand new alliance when he does make his way back to AEW.
Linking up with Jon Moxley in order to create a new squad to combat the Death Riders, the duo could end up being a frightening force.
If they lean more towards babyfaces, a potential link-up with Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) could end up making for a major threat to the possibly PAC or Claudio Castagnoli led Death Riders.

2. Roderick Strong
A potential future ally that could come from an unlikely source might be Roderick Strong.
With the intriguing relationship between Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir interfacing with Shafir being acknowledged in storyline as being married to Roderick Strong — perhaps there is more to come from the trio.
Since Kyle O’Reilly is out of action due to injury, perhaps Roderick Strong will be looking for friends and end up finding just that in Moxley.
Given Strong’s veteran status and widely acknowledged in-ring excellence, it would be amazing to see what a gritty and more unleashed version of Roddy could look like alongside Moxley.

1. Daniel Garcia
The latest addition to the Death Riders could prove to be one that may defect alongside Jon Moxley: Daniel Garcia.
Without all of the baggage with Mox that Wheeler Yuta has, Garcia could still be enamored by the leader enough to leave the group alongside him.
With the continued promise of his career reaching new heights under the tutelage of Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia could stay loyal to the deranged leader.
Potentially becoming the most victimized by Moxley in the early part of 2026, Garcia’s eventual redemption arc could be legendary.
