On May 25, AEW will present the seventh edition of its Double or Nothing pay-per-view. Double or Nothing holds a special place in AEW’s history as the very first official pay-per-view the company promoted back in 2019.
Over the years, the event has delivered multiple classic matches – none more memorable than Cody vs. Dustin Rhodes from that inaugural show, a bout that still resonates with fans as one of AEW’s defining early moments.
So far, only the finals of the Owen Hart Tournament have been officially announced – Will Ospreay vs. Adam Page, and Mercedes Moné vs. Jamie Hayter.
However, based on current storylines, there are several other potential matchups that could also one day be considered as company classics.
5. FTR vs. Daniel Garcia & Cope
FTR’s recent heel turn has seen them return to their roots.
At Dynasty, they blindsided long-time friend and former trios partner Cope.
They didn’t stop there, as they turned on another former ally in Daniel Garcia, and even attacked the legendary Rock ’n’ Roll Express, delivering a spiked piledriver to Ricky Morton.
With both Cope and Garcia undoubtedly wanting revenge, a hate-fuelled tag match at Double or Nothing seems highly likely.

4. Bandido vs. Rush
On AEW Collision last week, Bandido defended his Ring of Honor World Championship against fellow luchador Dralistico in a fast-paced, high-flying encounter.
Dralistico is a member of La Facción Ingobernable and the real-life brother of fellow faction member Rush – while this hasn’t yet been addressed on television, it seems likely Rush will want to avenge the loss.
A two-time ROH World Champion in his own right, Rush is long overdue for a title run in the Khan-verse.
If announced, a showdown between Bandido and Rush could be a sleeper hit at Double or Nothing.

3. Ricochet vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey
On the April 23 episode of Dynamite, Ricochet interfered in the frenetic tag match between the Young Bucks and the team of Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey.
It appears AEW is setting up a feud between Ricochet and the recently signed Kevin Knight.
However, with Knight scheduled to travel to Japan for New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament, a match between the two at Double or Nothing seems unlikely.
A one-on-one bout between Ricochet and Speedball – who already showcased great chemistry at the Dynasty pay-per-view in a three-way match with Kenny Omega – seems more likely, and could well be the show-stealer.

2. MJF vs. Bobby Lashley
The Hurt Syndicate have been a hit in AEW, with the former WWE faction receiving massive crowd reactions and being fully embraced by fans.
They’re now central to one of the company’s top storylines: MJF’s ongoing attempt to join the group, with Bobby Lashley serving as the main obstacle.
It would appear that the only way in is through Lashley himself – a familiar story beat, echoing MJF’s earlier path to joining the Inner Circle by defeating Chris Jericho.
A marquee clash between MJF and Lashley would seem to be on the cards for the pay-per-view.

1. Anarchy in the Arena: Death Riders, The Young Bucks & Kazuchika Okada vs. The Opps, Swerve Strickland & Kenny Omega
Born from the pandemic-era Stadium Stampede matches, Anarchy in the Arena has become a staple of AEW’s annual Double or Nothing show, pitting two warring factions against each other in a chaotic, all-out brawl that spills across the entire venue.
In recent weeks, AEW programming has descended into mayhem, as the Death Riders have aligned with the Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada in their relentless assaults on the Opps faction, who’ve found backup in Swerve Strickland and Kenny Omega.
This multi-layered feud – built from intersecting, multi-year storylines and deeply personal grudges – seems destined to headline Double or Nothing.
Given the brutal legacy of this match type, expectations are sky-high – but with the talent involved, a company classic may well be in the making.
