WWE SmackDown has added quite a few stars to the current roster over the past year.

Whether it be free agents like Rey Fenix or stars making the jump from other brands like Sami Zayn, these talents have bolstered the roster for the blue brand significantly.

Taking a look at Monday Night Raw and NXT as well as free agency, there are several more signings that SmackDown could add in the weeks and months to come.

Here are eight potential new WWE SmackDown signings.

8. Sheamus

Over the past few months, Sheamus has been feuding with Rusev after several different matches against one another on WWE Raw.

“The Celtic Warrior” has become known for his hard hitting, physical style in the squared circle and could offer that at anytime for WWE.

After wrapping up this ongoing rivalry with Rusev, it might be time for Sheamus to make the jump over to Friday Night SmackDown.

Sheamus signing with WWE SmackDown would be adding someone who could be an integral part of the roster up and down the card.

Fans have not seen Tony D’Angelo since he had a final dinner on the July 29 edition of WWE NXT.

During his four years with the company, D’Angelo has won every title available to him except for the NXT Championship.

After cementing himself as one of the cornerstones of the NXT brand, “The Don” has proven to be ready for the main roster spotlight.

Tony D signing with WWE SmackDown could be just what he needs right now in his progression where he can mix it up with the talent like The Miz, Damian Priest and Solo Sikoa.

Back in July, Sol Ruca made her main roster debut in a four-way match on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Ruca has had an exceptional 2025 so far, currently holding both the NXT Women’s North American Championship and the Speed Women’s Championship as well.

Ruca has showcased her awe inspiring high flying ability as well as her heart and determination that makes him a future star on the WWE main roster.

With the success she has experienced in recent months, it would make a lot of sense to see Sol get called up to the WWE SmackDown brand in the near future.

4. Jey Uso

Looking over at the Monday Night Raw brand, there are a few stars who have become among the most important to the brand, which includes Jey Uso.

Uso has become one of the most popular and beloved stars on the entire WWE roster and is a former World Heavyweight Champion.

While the likes of Roman Reigns and LA Knight have gone from SmackDown regulars to appearing on WWE Raw consistently, it makes sense for another top babyface make a similar move in the opposite direction.

Jey Uso moving to WWE SmackDown could see him propelled to an even higher position where he will be right next to Cody Rhodes, John Cena and Randy Orton as the biggest babyface star on the brand moving forward.

3. Ricky Saints

Following a five year run in All Elite Wrestling, Ricky Saints was granted his release and signed with WWE back in February.

Becoming one of the top stars on the NXT roster, Saints only took a month to capture the North American Championship and has continued to gain momentum along the way.

Despite losing the NXT North American Championship, Saints has more than proven that he is prepared for the main roster stage.

Ricky could be an excellent addition to the WWE SmackDown brand where he can work alongside his real life friend Cody Rhodes in a mentor-protege role to start before eventually turning on the current Undisputed WWE Champion.

Over the course of four years, no one has been through more changes and evolutions on the WWE NXT brand quite like Trick Williams.

Going from Carmelo Hayes’ sidekick to a two-time NXT Champion, Williams has developed into one of the most popular stars in the brand’s history.

Trick now currently holds the TNA World Championship and solidified himself as a bonafide breakout star by being featured in two different companies.

After his TNA World Title reign has completed, Trick could sign with WWE SmackDown where he has some intriguing possibilities with the likes of his former tag team partner Carmelo Hayes or mixing up with the top stars like John Cena and Randy Orton.

1. Matt Cardona

Matt Cardona has made it no secret that he is more than open to making a return to WWE after a five year absence.

When Cardona was released from WWE in 2020, he never looked back and hit the ground running, becoming one of the biggest stars outside of the company by embracing the independent scene in a major way.

Winning gold in the NWA, GCW and TNA Wrestling, Cardona successfully reinvented himself and has become undeniable for the talent he possesses.

Cardona signing with WWE SmackDown could place him back in an act with his wife Chelsea Green and could see him in a much better position than the one he had during his first stint with the company.
