With just less than four weeks before WWE WrestleMania 42, the card has started to take shape with six matches announced for the ‘The Show of Shows.’
While Monday Night Raw has both the men’s and women’s world titles up for grabs as well as Brock Lesnar facing off with Oba Femi, Friday Night SmackDown has only announced its two top championship matches.
The next few weeks will see more bouts added from the blue brand that will fill out the card for both nights of ‘The Showcase of the Immortals.’
Here are seven potential WWE SmackDown matches to be added to WrestleMania 42.
7. WWE Women’s United States Championship: Giulia (c) vs. Tiffany Stratton

On the March 27 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Giulia will go one-on-one with Tiffany Stratton in a non-title match.
While this bout was originally scheduled to be for the WWE Women’s United States Championship, the company started to advertise this as non-title the day before the show.
After taking aim at the title, Stratton will look to get a singles win against ‘The Beautiful Madness’ before she gets a shot at the gold at WrestleMania 42.
Stratton challenging Giulia for the gold could be a nice addition to the Mania card and put a spotlight on the WWE Women’s United States Championship for the first time on a premium live event.
6. WWE United States Championship: Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Ilja Dragunov

The March 20 episode of SmackDown saw Carmelo Hayes defeating Ilja Dragunov to retain the United States Championship.
This marked the latest meeting between Hayes and Dragunov since Melo captured the US Title at the end of 2025.
Following his recent crisis of confidence, Dragunov could let his frustration from this latest loss get the better of him and turn heel on Hayes.
Getting another shot at the United States Championship at WrestleMania 42, Dragunov and Hayes have everything it takes to deliver a showstealing bout at ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All.’
5. Jelly Roll & Danhausen vs. The Miz & Kit Wilson

Over the past few weeks, fans have seen Jelly Roll interact with both The Miz and Kit Wilson in a series of in-ring confrontations.
The March 13 edition of Friday Night SmackDown saw the Grammy Award winner knock out ‘The A Lister.’ Then, the following week, Jelly got into a poetry slam with Wilson, which saw Kit leaving the country music star laying.
Now, Jelly is set to face Kit Wilson in singles competition on the March 27 episode of SmackDown. Meanwhile, Danhausen has been interacting with The Miz in a series of backstage segments over the past few weeks.
Regardless of how this bout goes, things look to be in place for Jelly to team up with Danhausen against The Miz and Wilson in a big time tag team encounter at WrestleMania 42.

4. Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams

On the January 2 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Trick Williams officially got called up to the WWE main roster and confronted Sami Zayn.
Ever since then, Williams and Zayn have been embroiled in a rivalry with one another.
Despite facing each other in a four-way match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and their different backstage confrontations, Zayn and Williams have not yet competed in a singles match against one another.
WrestleMania 42 feels like the perfect setting for Sami and Trick to do battle one-on-one to settle their differences with each other once and for all.
3. WWE Tag Team Championship: Damian Priest & R-Truth (c) vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)

Damian Priest and R-Truth have reunited with one another after forming a friendship when the veteran believed he was part of The Judgment Day a few years back.
After continuing their friendship as part of the SmackDown roster, Truth and Priest teamed to defeat The MFTs to become the new WWE Tag Team Championship on the March 20 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Meanwhile, The Motor City Machine Guns have seemingly overcome some recent differences and picked up a key win over Fraxiom with the help of Candice LeRae.
With LeRae looking to repay Alex Shelley for his recent help wanting to break her husband Johnny Gargano out his funk, The Machine Guns could be the challengers for the new champions in Truth and Priest at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

2. The MFTs (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa & Talla Tonga) vs. The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis) in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match

One of the longest current rivalries in WWE right now is the faction war going on between The MFTs and The Wyatt Sicks.
Dating back to October 2025, Solo Sikoa’s family tree has been feuding with Uncle Howdy and his band of misfits. This rivalry has seen The MFTs steal the sacred lantern that once belonged to Bray Wyatt and cause this war to get very personal.
After The Wyatt Sicks were responsible for costing The MFTs the WWE Tag Team Championship, it seems inevitable that these two stables will battle on ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All.’
Having The MFTs battle The Wyatt Sicks in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match could determine who is the better faction at WrestleMania 42.
1. Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu in a Hell In A Cell Match

On the March 6 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre to win the Undisputed WWE Championship thanks to an assist from Jacob Fatu.
After McIntyre got a measure of revenge with an attack the week following, the March 20 SmackDown kicked off with McIntyre attacking Fatu in the parking lot and busting him open.
The same episode ended with McIntyre and Fatu battling on top of a scaffolding outside of the arena before both men fell down to close the broadcast.
Following their series of brawls on last week’s show, it feels like McIntyre and Fatu should bring their feud to a natural conclusion inside Hell In A Cell at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
