7 WWE Raw Matches To Be Added To Backlash 2026

On Saturday, May 9, WWE will present its Backlash 2026 premium live event from Tampa, Florida.

This show will be the first major event to take place following WrestleMania 42 and will hold some ramifications moving forward.

With Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu, Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker, and Asuka vs. IYO SKY already announced, there could be even more Raw matches to be added to the card for the upcoming Backlash show.

Here are seven WWE Raw matches to be potentially added to Backlash 2026.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sol Ruca

On the April 20 WWE Raw after WrestleMania 42, Sol Ruca made her official main roster debut and confronted Liv Morgan.

In a strong showing for the former NXT Women’s North American Champion, Ruca lost to Morgan thanks to outside interference from Zaria.

The May 4 episode of WWE Raw will see Ruca officially sign her contract with Monday Night Raw, which may bring out Becky Lynch.

Coming off her win over IYO SKY on the April 27 episode of WWE Raw, Lynch could go on to defend the Women’s IC Title against Sol at the upcoming WWE Backlash 2026 premium live event.

Oba Femi Open Challenge

On the April 27 episode of Monday Night Raw, Oba Femi defeated Grayson Waller in singles action.

After the win, Femi got on the mic and introduced an open challenge against anyone in the locker room who wants to to step up and prove themselves with the lack of opportunities currently available.

Back at WWE WrestleMania 42 night two, Femi defeated Brock Lesnar in what is the biggest win of his career.

‘The Ruler’ holding his first open challenge at WWE Backlash 2026 would be an intriguing way to see a returning star like Sheamus or an underutilized talent like Otis in what could prove to be an exciting bout.

World Tag Team Championship: The Vision (Logan Paul & Austin Theory) (c) vs. Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)

On the March 30 edition of Monday Night Raw, The Vision defeated The Usos to win the WWE World Tag Team Championship.

The Vision’s Austin Theory and Logan Paul have had a new challenge step up to them since WrestleMania 42 in the form of the Street Profits.

After attacking Seth Rollins and Joe Hendry over the past few weeks, it was Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins who came out to go after The Vision.

This could set the stage for the Street Profits to challenge Paul and Theory for the World Tag Team Title at WWE Backlash 2026 in what could be a showstealing contest.

Women’s Tag Team Championship: Paige & Brie Bella (c) vs. The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez)

At WrestleMania 42 night one, Paige made her return to team with Brie Bella to defeat The Irresistible Forces, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Paige and Brie then picked up their first win as champions when they successfully defended against The Irresistible Forces on the May 1 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Meanwhile, The Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez placed themselves back into title contention with a win over Bayley and Valkyria on the April 27 WWE Raw.

Paige and Brie defending the gold against The Judgment Day may be a tough test for the new champions and could see them losing the title at WWE Backlash 2026.

LA Knight vs. Jey Uso

Over the past few weeks, the differences between LA Knight and The Usos have been coming to the surface after it seemed like all three men were on the same side.

At WrestleMania 42 night one, Knight and The Usos defeated IShowSpeed and The Vision in a trios match.

Following Mania, Jimmy and Jey Uso reunited with Roman Reigns to reform The Bloodline, which has gotten under Knight’s skin.

Looking to not only smack some sense into his former partners, but also earn a shot at Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship, Knight could go one-on-one with Jey Uso in a high profile singles showdown at WWE Backlash 2026 that may get him the title shot he desires.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) vs. Rusev vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Ethan Page

At WrestleMania 42 night two, Penta defeated Je’Von Evans, Rusev, JD McDonagh, Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio in a Ladder Match to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Following this win, Evans made it clear that he was still coming after the IC Title, but Rusev attacked both Je’Von and Penta in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Ethan Page made the jump from WWE NXT to the main roster and has made it crystal clear that he plans on challenging for the IC gold.

With these four men set to compete in a tag team match, Penta, Rusev, Je’Von Evans and Ethan Page could be all set to battle at WWE Backlash 2026 with the Intercontinental Championship up for grabs.

Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio – Steel Cage Match

Ever since The Judgment Day turned their back on him, Finn Balor has been hellbent towards his former stablemates, most notably Dominik Mysterio.

At WWE WrestleMania 42 night two, Balor defeated Mysterio in a Street Fight as his ‘Demon’ persona.

Despite this victory, it doesn’t seem the hostility between Balor and Mysterio has lessened whatsoever.

Balor and ‘Dirty Dom’ concluding their rivalry in a Steel Cage match would make for a high stakes stipulation that might just be worthy of blowing off their issues at WWE Backlash 2026 once and for all.
