7 Surprises WWE Could Book In Germany For Bash In Berlin

In what came as a big shock, WWE announced their very first PLE in Germany for 2024: Bash In Berlin.

The last major wrestling PPV event in Germany came in the year 2000, when WCW aired “Millennium Final” live from Oberhausen.

As you can see this is a quite historic announcement for wrestling in Germany!

Logically, WWE should produce a show that celebrates the rich history of Germany and continental European wrestling.

This feature is going to show you what else we here in Germany have to offer and what WWE can do with that.

With the record breaking WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci, the company already features icons of our buzzing indie-scene.

But speaking of icons, there used to be a fourth member of Imperium…

7. Bring Back Alexander Wolfe

Alexander Wolfe, or Axel Tischer as he’s known outside of WWE, was the first German signed to WWE since Brakus.

Unlike Brakus, he was not here to destroy Triple H or Vader. Instead, he forged his legacy as an NXT Tag Team Champion alongside Eric Young as a part of SAnitY.

Later he went on to be the equalizer of Imperium. Following his release from the company, The Axeman began dominating the European wrestling scene.

He captured the GWF World Championship and competed in the wXw 16 Carat Gold Tournament. He became the benchmark for all wrestlers in Europe.

Even if it is just a guest appearance, few embody the current indie wrestling scene like Axel Tischer. A recognizable figure that would serve for a huge reaction in Beryln.

Berlyn? Hold on a minute…

6. Debut Alex Wright As Berlyn

WWE would send chills down every German wrestling fan’s spine if they’d hit Berlyn’s theme in Berlin.

24 years ago at WCW Millennium Final in Oberhausen, Berlyn had just been dropped as a character and he was competing under the name again most people know him by: Alex Wright.

Now is the time to right… I mean wright… that wrong and give Berlyn that entrance in Berlin he deserved.

After that, we can go straight into the Boogie, maybe alongside The New Day and everyone would have a great time.

The real reason Alex Wright earned a cameo on this show is his incredible legacy and work for German wrestling, especially after his retirement.

He formed his own promotion in NEW and founded the “Wright Stuff” training school, which enjoys worldwide acclaim.

For example, Imperium’s Giovanni Vinci was a student of Alex Wright.

5. Call Up Meta-Four

Why would Meta-Four factor into Bash In Berlin?

Well 2 out of 4 wrestlers are European and one of them made his name in the German wrestling scene: Oro Mensah.

Mensah is originally from Switzerland, but much like Claudio Castagnoli he quickly gained traction in Germany.

He competed for the likes of wXw, GWF, and NEW before being picked up by WWE for NXT UK.

One year from now Meta-Four will probably be on top of NXT and ready for a call-up.

Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson on the main roster?

No better time to do it than in Berlin.

4. Bring In German Celebrities

WWE should want to cash in on mainstream attention in Germany.

One name that WWE has been working with for the last decade is rapper Eko Fresh.

Fresh has been a genuine ambassador for WWE in Germany and never tried to hide his fandom wherever he went.

In addition, he has many connections to the German rap scene that could be added to the show for a fun segment.

Of course, there are even bigger names that WWE could aim for in terms of singers, actors, and football players.

The bottom line is: Get some famous people to grow the German fanbase even more.

Jazzy Gabert probably has Udo Lindenberg’s number lying around.

3. Give Sebastian Hackl A Match

Someone who hasn’t been lying around in the last 10 years is Sebastian ‘Hackman’ Hackl.

He has been a commentator for WWE TV shows for over a decade and traveled to the USA several times to call the action.

But that is not all, he also hosts “WWE Die Woche”.

WWE Die Woche is a weekly series on Instagram that served some major headlines in the past while he interviews WWE Superstars regularly.

Sebastian Hackl has a true deep-running passion for pro wrestling and pushed himself to even bigger heights this year.

Before becoming a commentator Hackl was a wrestler for a short while, but eventually stopped.

This year he returned to wXw to compete in the Shortcut To The Top (their version of the Royal Rumble) and is scheduled to wrestle more matches for the company.

He is the face of WWE in Germany.

Giving him a match at Bash In Berlin would be extremely deserved.

Of course, getting WWE to host a PLE in Germany was a massive group effort, but if you had to name one person out of everyone who worked hard for this it is Sebastian Hackl.

2. Debut Teoman On The Main Roster

Teoman, or Metehan as he currently goes by, was suddenly released by WWE in August 2022.

He is a former wXw Shotgun and Tag Team Champion, and a wXw 16 Carat Gold winner.

Currently, he is the GWF World Champion.

NXT Europe could be built around a man like Teoman.

He is a true main event player and if you remember him as ‘Lucky Kid’, you know the connection he can create with an audience.

If anyone deserves a second chance in the WWE family it is him.

Bringing back Teoman in his hometown is money!

There is only one man that would generate a bigger pop…

1. Bring Back Bret Hart As A Host

Bret Hart

Bret Hart. When Germany had no home-country hero to cheer on, they settled on the next best thing: Bret “The Hitman” Hart.

Nobody got a louder reaction in Germany than Bret Hart back in the day. People love Bret here. They just do.

Whether or not it’s just for one night, bringing Bret back to host Bash In Berlin would be a stroke of genius.

The Hall of Famer is so beloved in Germany that whatever heel or babyface gets to work with him that night would be elevated big time.
