WWE’s legendary prime-time event returns for its 39th edition on 24 May, coming from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
The show is headlined by a World Heavyweight Championship match between reigning champion Jey Uso and Logan Paul.
However, with Money in the Bank on June 7 and a two-night SummerSlam in August, the event is also sure to feature a few major surprises as WWE builds toward a summer of big-time shows.
Here are seven surprise returns we could see at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
7. Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes has not been seen since his year-long reign as Undisputed WWE Champion was ended by John Cena at WrestleMania 41.
As the company’s top babyface, however, his return feels imminent.
Given the underhanded nature of his loss, it’s clear he’ll be returning with revenge on his mind – perhaps setting the stage for a blockbuster rematch with Cena at SummerSlam.
The big question now is whether that return will come at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Cena is scheduled to face R-Truth.

6. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has not been seen since the Raw after WrestleMania 41, where he was beaten down by the Paul Heyman-led faction of Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker.
His eventual return will undoubtedly see him seek revenge on those responsible.
Heyman’s new alliance is already set to be in action at Saturday Night’s Main Event, facing off against CM Punk and Sami Zayn.
While Reigns is not scheduled for the show, a surprise return from the “Tribal Chief”, to set up a big-time SummerSlam match against either Breakker or Rollins, would electrify the crowd in Tampa.

5. The Wyatt Sicks

The Wyatt Sicks arrived in WWE with significant fanfare, only to disappear without an on-screen explanation.
In reality, their absence was reportedly due to an injury to Bo Dallas / Uncle Howdy.
With Alexa Bliss returning on SmackDown on May 9, could the long-rumored alignment finally happen, revealing her as the group’s newest member?
Saturday Night’s Main Event could very well be the setting for their awaited return, and the unveiling of Bliss as an ally, or perhaps even their new leader.

4. Bayley

In storyline, Bayley was pulled from the WrestleMania 41 card due to an injury after being attacked by a mystery assailant.
It was later revealed that the attacker was Becky Lynch, who has since turned on partner Lyra Valkyria and continued to verbally target Bayley on Raw.
Bayley’s return to settle the score with her long-time rival seems inevitable.
While Lynch is not currently announced for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, an impromptu promo from the Irish star could be the perfect spark for Bayley’s surprise return.

3. Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa

Bloodline members Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa have been absent from WWE programming due to injury.
With the faction recently adding JC Mateo at Backlash and tensions rising between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, another Bloodline civil war appears to be on the horizon.
The brother tag team will undoubtedly play a role in the coming conflict.
While no Bloodline match or segment has been announced for Saturday Night’s Main Event, a surprise return from the former NJPW Tag Team Champions cannot be ruled out.

2. Omos

The early years of Saturday Night’s Main Event were defined by the larger-than-life presence of André the Giant, most famously through his iconic feud with Hulk Hogan before and after WrestleMania III.
Giants have remained fixtures of the prime-time special over the decades – from Big John Studd and André in the 1980s to The Big Show and The Great Khali during the show’s mid-2000s revival.
WWE’s current giant, Omos – standing at 7’3″ – has not been seen on television in over a year, recently making an excursion to Pro Wrestling NOAH.

1. Asuka

Damage CTRL’s Kairi Sane returned from injury on the May 19 edition of Raw, though she came up short in her attempt to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Her Kabuki Warriors tag team partner, Asuka, remains absent after being sidelined last year with a serious knee injury.
One of WWE’s standout in-ring performers of the past decade, Asuka’s return seems imminent, whether as a singles competitor following a formal dissolution of Damage CTRL, or by reuniting with Sane to chase tag team gold.
Could Saturday Night’s Main Event mark the moment she finally returns from injury?
