On Sunday, June 28, WWE NXT will present their first premium live event on The CW Network with The Great American Bash 2026.
Coming out of this show, the NXT brand could look completely different with new alliances and talent making their arrival or saying goodbye.
The changes for NXT should shake things up and make The Bash an impactful event that changes everything moving forward.
Here are seven potential changes to WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026.
7. Tatum Paxley leaves NXT to head to the main roster
Tatum Paxley became only the second woman ever to hold both the NXT Women’s and Women’s North American Championships
On the June 9 edition of WWE NXT, Zaria defeated Tatum Paxley to win the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
Following the show, Paxley reportedly gave a farewell to the fans, seemingly signalling her departure from the brand.
However, Paxley made her return to cost Zaria a tag team match and set up a rematch for the gold at WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026.
Tatum Paxley losing here could lead to her leaving WWE NXT to finally get called up to the main roster in the near future.
6. Birthright get more gold
Birthright already hold the Men’s Speed Championship after Lexis King picked up the vacant championship
Birthright was a stable assembled from the children of WWE and pro wrestling legends, looking to take what’s theirs from the business.
This has led to Lexis King winning the WWE Speed Champion and now Arianna Grace will challenge Wren Sinclair for the Speed Women’s Championship.
With this opportunity, it would be a big moment for Birthright if Grace is able to capture some more gold for the stable.
Whether by hook or crook, Birthright could walk out of WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026 with both Speed Championships.
5. Perros Del Mal come to WWE NXT
Los Perros Del Mal reformed in AAA for the first time in over a decade on the June 20 episode of AAA on FOX, attacking El Grande Americano
On the June 20 episode of AAA on FOX, Karmen Petrovic, Angel, Berto, Daga and Bronco Nima made their debut as the Perros Del Mal faction in an attack on El Grande Americano.
Then on the June 23 edition of WWE NXT, there were some references to Petrovic and Nima’s involvement in this assault on Americano.
Considering that these two and Los Garza have plenty of history on NXT, it would make sense if this group made their presence felt on Tuesday nights.
Perros Del Mal emerging on WWE NXT would be a great way to cross promote the AAA brand on the company’s programming, while also giving the talent more opportunities to shine.
4. Saquon Shugars puts DarkState away
Saquon Shugars was removed from DarkState last month following an NXT Tag Team Championship defeat
On the May 19 edition of WWE NXT, The Vanity Project defeated DarkState to retain the NXT Tag Team Championships. After months of dissension, Dar State decided to excommunicate Saquon Shugars as a result.
Since then, Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin and Cutler James have revealed that Shugars was the odd man out and would always be the “indie wrestler” compared to his Division 1 athlete stablemates.
Shugars then went on a mission to take out each and every member of DarkState, attacking James and Griffin with a lead pipe.
Now that it will be a singles match with Lennox, it feels like the perfect opportunity to have Shugars close the book on his story with Dark State at The Great American Bash 2026 premium live event.
3. Lola Vice’s final NXT match?
Lola Vice signed with WWE back in 2022, with her arrival from MMA being heavily touted
Signing with WWE in 2022, Lola Vice instantly made a smooth transition from MMA to pro wrestling on the NXT brand.
Over the course of the past four years, Vice has shown a great deal of charisma, improvement and poise that makes her ready-made for the main roster.
At WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026, Vice will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Kendal Grey.
If she loses the gold, this should be Vice’s final NXT match and see her head to the WWE main roster sooner rather than later.
2. Kendal Grey era begins
Kendal Grey had previously reigned as the WWE Evolve Women’s Champion, with her vacating the title upon her move to the main WWE NXT roster
On the note of Lola Vice potentially losing the NXT Women’s Champion, Kendal Grey seems to be on the cusp of the biggest win of her career.
Since getting called up from Evolve to NXT, Grey has been on a meteor rise that has placed her among the best that the brand has to offer right now.
Grey starting her era on NXT would make The Great American Bash 2026 a pivotal premium live event that will never be forgotten.
With a win over Lola Vice, Kendal Grey could place her name among the greatest female stars in NXT history and begin a new era led by her.
1. New faction led by Naraku emerges
Naraku was the leader of the House of Torture stable during his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling
On the April 28 edition of WWE NXT, former NJPW star EVIL made his debut in the company to confront Tony D’Angelo.
Then on the June 9 NXT, EVIL, now known as Naraku, defeated Mason Rook to become the number one contender to challenge D’Angelo for the NXT Championship.
Over the past few weeks, Naraku has teased that “evil” is coming and sent a warning via a fireball to D”Angelo’s face on the June 23 NXT.
Now that he has a weakened champion, Naraku could debut a new faction that helps him win the NXT Championship and stands atop of the brand coming out of WWE NXT Great American Bash.
