6 Surprises At WWE & AAA Worlds Collide

On Friday, September 12, the second WWE & AAA Worlds Collide event will take place from The Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

This event has a stellar card filled with title matches and grudges being settled between the stars from the WWE and AAA rosters.

With this lineup, there should also be some surprises whether it be unannounced matches or shocking title changes on the show.

Here are six potential surprises at WWE & AAA Worlds Collide.

6. Penta Gets Impromptu Match

One of the more notable things announced for the September 12 WWE & AAA Worlds Collide premium live event is Penta making a special appearance.

The masked luchador might be coming out to greet the fans in Las Vegas, but he could be in store for something bigger on this card.

With Penta being one of the bigger names advertised for the upcoming PLE, he could have an impromptu match on the docket come September 20.

Penta facing someone on the Lucha Libre AAA roster at Worlds Collide could be interesting to watch unfold in Las Vegas.

5. Penta Reunites With Brother Rey Fenix

In January, Penta made his WWE debut and has since become one of the fastest rising stars on the roster.

The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has been mixing it up with several different stars up and down the card over the past year, but many fans have wondered when he will reunite with his brother Rey Fenix.

Fenix made his debut in April on Friday Night SmackDown. While he started as a singles competitor, Fenix has since started a tag team with Andrade.

Penta reuniting with Fenix as the Lucha Bros at WWE & AAA Worlds Collide would make for a very memorable moment that fans will never forget.

4. Ethan Page Becomes Double Champion For North America & Latin America

At the September 12 WWE & AAA Worlds Collide, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. will defend the AAA Latin American Championship against Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh and Ethan Page in a four-way match.

This title match has given Page the opportunity to become a rare double champion in WWE.

Joining the likes of Stephanie Vaquer, Jacy Jayne and Sol Ruca, Page could hold two separate titles to cement himself as one of the best in WWE today.

Trying to prove himself as not just the greatest North American but the greatest American, “All Ego” could capture the AAA Latin American Championship to go along with his NXT North American Championship.

3. The New Day Win AAA World Tag Team Championships From Psycho Clown & Pagano

At AAA TripleMania XXXIII, Psycho Clown and Pagano defeated Los Garza to win the AAA World Tag Team Championships.

Since then, Psycho and Pagano have issued an open challenge to any tag team out there with The New Day accepting the match.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have been in mourning ever since losing the World Tag Team Titles in June, but they could get a win that helps them rebound significantly.

The New Day beating Psycho Clown and Pagano to win the AAA World Tag Team Championships would be a surprising title change that could help them get back to their regular selves.

2. AJ Styles Shows Up To Cost Dominik Mysterio AAA Mega Championship Against El Hijo del Vikingo Again

At AAA TripleMania XXXIII, El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano to retain the AAA Mega Championship.

During the course of the bout, AJ Styles cost Mysterio the title by pulling the referee out of the ring and delivering a Styles Clash on the Intercontinental Champion.

“The Phenomenal One” recently suffered another loss to “Dirty Dom” in an IC Title match in Paris, France on the September 1 edition of WWE Raw.

Styles recently vented frustration at his position in WWE during a commercial break on Raw, so perhaps another costly interference at Worlds Collide could force WWE’s hand into giving him another opportunity at the gold.

1. Dominik Mysterio Dethrones El Hijo del Vikingo To Win AAA Mega Championship

Ever since he made his debut in Mexico, Dominik Mysterio has been discussed as someone who could potentially dethrone El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship.

However, Mysterio came up short in his bid at the title in the four-way match against Vikingo, Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano at AAA TripleMania XXXIII.

Feeling screwed over by AJ Styles, “Dirty Dom” issued a challenge to Vikingo for the gold in Las Vegas at WWE & AAA Worlds Collide.

While many were expecting it at TripleMania, Dominik defeating Vikingo to win the AAA Mega Championship would be quite the surprise at Worlds Collide on September 12, with The Judgment Day leader leaving Las Vegas as a double champion.
