Seven years after the inaugural event, WWE is bringing back its all-women’s premium live event, Evolution, on Sunday, July 13.
The first show in 2018 featured stars from all three WWE brands — four if you include NXT UK — as well as the return of several company legends.
There’s no doubt this second event will also feature surprise appearances and comebacks, many of which could potentially compete at the event.
Here are six names we could expect to see return at Evolution.
6. Paige
Saraya left AEW earlier this year — a company she joined in 2022 to resume her in-ring career after a five-year absence due to a serious neck injury.
Since her departure, speculation has been mounting about a return to WWE as Paige.
There seems no more fitting or poignant stage for her WWE comeback than the all-women’s Evolution event, which could host her first WWE match in over seven years.
Whether she wrestles on the show or not, we may well see the return of Paige at Evolution.

5. Brie Bella
On the June 9 edition of Raw, Nikki Bella made her WWE return, with reports suggesting that sister Brie is also in talks to come back.
On Raw, Nikki was attacked by Liv Morgan, setting up a potential high-profile tag match in the form of the champions Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez against The Bellas at Evolution.
However, with Morgan’s recent shoulder injury ruling her out, that match is no longer on the cards — though Brie could still return, possibly facing another Judgment Day team, consisting of Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.
The most likely scenario is that we still see The Bellas return as a tag team at Evolution.

4. Trish Stratus
In terms of WWE’s history of female performers, few are more legendary than Trish Stratus.
The seven-time Women’s Champion appeared at the first Evolution event, teaming with Lita in a tag match against Alicia Fox and Mickie James.
There’s little doubt Stratus will return once again for this year’s show.
At 49, she’s remained relatively active in recent years — already competing in two matches in 2025 — and this time, we could see her in a high-profile singles bout, possibly with a title on the line.

3. Mickie James
Arguably the peak of Trish Stratus’ first WWE run was her feud with Mickie James — a rivalry that produced standout matches, despite the limitations placed on female workers at the time.
James’ accomplishments speak for themselves, with 10 Women’s World Championship reigns across WWE and TNA, making her a likely candidate for a spot on WWE’s Evolution.
She currently remains a semi-active in-ring performer, having delivered strong matches in TNA as recently as 2023.
A standout performance at Evolution could pave the way for one final run with WWE.

2. Lita
Another legend almost certain to return at Evolution is Lita.
A trailblazing female performer and one of the most iconic stars of the early 2000s, her legacy in WWE is undeniable.
However, she hasn’t wrestled in two years — her last match came at WrestleMania 39 in 2023, teaming with Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch against Damage CTRL.
While she’ll surely return for the show, the only question now is whether she’ll choose to lace up her boots and wrestle again.

1. Lana
Following a brief and lacklustre run with AEW in 2023–24, Lana recently signed a Legends deal with WWE.
With husband Rusev now back full-time with the company, we could soon see Lana make a return as well.
That return could come at Evolution — while it’s unlikely Lana will feature in a high-profile match, a surprise appearance in a Battle Royal, like the one held at the first event, seems highly likely.
With an on-screen return at Evolution, there’s also the possibility Lana could step back into a full-time role as Rusev’s manager.
