With WWE potentially looking to create distance from some of the PLEs that have become stale, they could instead look to bring back old favorites.
From events that were one-offs that fans still remember today to others that could serve as a slight rebranding to a concept that some fans are already rallying to bring back — there are some intriguing choices for events that could be revived in the new year.
Here are six old WWE PLEs that could return in the near future.
6. St Valentine’s Day Massacre

With February 14, 2026 falling on a Saturday, WWE could definitely revive this PLE name for one more go.
Only used once in 1999, St. Valentine’s Day Massacre is often remembered by Attitude Era fans as playing host to the legendary Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon Steel Cage Match.
Able to come back in 2026, the event could add another stop on the Road to WrestleMania 42 in order to expand on growing rivalries and bring up the drama.
Potentially able to be a special edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, there could be some broken hearts and broken bones for the holiday in 2026.

5. No Way Out

No Way Out is a pay-per-view that went away before coming back albeit briefly but has never really left in practical application.
With the event hosting Elimination Chamber matches in 2008 and 2009, it was then replaced by the annual event named after the big match.
After coming back for a one-off event in June 2012, No Way Out was gone again however could absolutely be brought back into the calendar fold.
Re-branding the WWE Elimination Chamber event back into simply No Way Out could avoid the feeling of the big stipulation match being a little arbitrary rather than deeply meaningful to the actual storyline.

4. Cyber Sunday

One past WWE event that could be completely reshaped in 2026 is the past concept of Cyber Sunday.
Originally known as Taboo Tuesday when it started in 2004, the fan voted event changed to the traditional Sunday pay-per-view in 2006 but still had fan voted elements.
Making one WWE PLE per calendar year and entirely fan voted upon affair could be an interesting way to shake-up storylines and for WWE to (at least performatively) put the power back into the hands of fans.
Able to set up cross brand dream matches, there could be some interesting storylines that spring forward from some fan led pandemonium thrown the creative team’s way.

3. Bragging Rights

While the traditional Survivor Series match could return to bring back brand warfare in WWE, perhaps it could be hosted at a return of Bragging Rights.
Pitting the top stars from WWE Raw against SmackDown for nothing other than to demonstrate brand supremacy was a concept that may have felt stale in the past, but could be nostalgic fun in 2026.
Potentially serving as an exhibition style event, there could be representatives from across WWE brands including Raw, SmackDown, NXT, AAA and perhaps even an invading TNA Wrestling squad.
Adding some possible stakes beyond only the ‘bragging rights’ could be if the event was held in advance of the WWE Draft 2026, giving an advantage to the winning team’s GM.

2. Great Balls of Fire

One of the most random WWE PLE names of all time could easily come back without explanation beyond for fun is Great Balls of Fire.
The event’s name was in reference to Jerry Lee Lewis’ song of the same name and was used as the event’s theme song. Held as a one-off event at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas in July 2017, the name would end up never coming back.
Unsurprisingly, the name drew ire from fans online but overall there were memorable moments within nine match card including Brock Lesnar retaining his Universal Championship over Samoa Joe.
Perhaps being included in a fan vote for a name to resurrect could prove whether or not the WWE fans would want to play this particular tune again or perhaps opt for an entirely new.

1. In Your House

One pay-per-view concept from long ago that could see a revival in the coming year could be the ‘In Your House’ name.
Originally implemented as a way to add additional pay-per-views to the calendar year, the In Your House titles came at a lower cost than the five major event offerings at the time (WrestleMania, King of the Ring, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble) and also had a shorter runtime.
However with the very first version of the event featuring a contest to win a house – perhaps instead WWE could makeover a fraternity and sorority house. Having previously trademarked WWE Campus Rush, it could be a very fun spin on the event to take it to a literal college campus.
Able to host activations on campus, an actual campus takeover could become a travelling annual event that injects a ton of energy into the calendar.
