WWE is full speed ahead on the road to WrestleMania 42 with only six episodes of Monday Night Raw before “The Show of Shows.”
While the company will be setting up matches for the two-night event’s card, there will be some necessary bouts on WWE Raw ahead of Mania.
From title matches to top contenders being determined, WWE Raw will have some matches that must happen on the road to “The Showcase of the Immortals.”
Here are six potential matches at WWE Raw before WrestleMania 42.
WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship: AJ Lee (c) vs. Asuka
At WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, AJ Lee defeated Becky Lynch to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Then on the March 2 edition of Monday Night Raw, Lee stated that she will be a fighting champion and issued an open challenge to anyone on the roster.
This led to the company announcing a number one contenders gauntlet match with IYO SKY, Bayley, Lyra Valkyria, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka and Ivy Nile to determine who will get the first shot at the Women’s IC Title on the March 9 episode.
Out of those names in the bout, it feels like Asuka could move on to face AJ Lee in her first defense as a champion in over a decade on an upcoming episode of WWE Raw.

Penta & The Original El Grande Americano vs. Los Americanos (Bravo & Rayo Americano)
On the March 2 episode of Monday Night Raw, Penta defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Following his victory, it was announced that Penta will defend the IC Title against The Original El Grande Americano on the March 9 episode.
With The Original El Grande embroiled in a rivalry with the other El Grande, it feels like there might not be a decisive finish to this bout on Raw with Los Americanos most likely getting involved.
This could lead to Penta and The Original El Grande facing Los Americanos in tag team action in the next few weeks.

Dominik Mysterio vs. Je’Von Evans
Back on the February 16 episode of WWE Raw, Je’Von Evans defeated Dominik Mysterio and GUNTHER to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match.
“The Young OG” has recently set his sights on the Intercontinental Championship, which led to many fans believing that Evans would be the next challenger for “Dirty Dom.”
However, Penta defeated Mysterio to win the IC Title, so it means there is a new champion for Evans to challenge.
Evans facing Dominik Mysterio should serve as a number one contenders match to decide who will challenge Penta for the gold at WrestleMania 42.

Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul
On the February 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Jey Uso was laid out after a mysterious attack before the show went on the air.
This led to Uso being removed from the Men’s Elimination Chamber, while The Vision showed up for Logan Paul to qualify for the match and take his spot.
After Paul competed in Uso’s place in the Chamber, Jimmy Uso attacked The Vision and faced Austin Theory in singles competition on the March 2 edition of WWE Raw. Just when it looked like The Vision had the numbers advantage, Jey Uso returned to fight them off.
This should lead to Uso going one-on-one with Paul in singles action, potentially leading to a World Tag Team Championship showdown at WrestleMania 42.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend) (c) vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria
On the February 27 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, The Irresistible Forces defeated RHIYO to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Nia Jax and Lash Legend now stand atop of the women’s tag team division and could face any number of challengers for the gold before WrestleMania 42.
Looking at the scene, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria have staked their claim for a shot at the titles and have not been granted their opportunity from Raw General Manager Adam Pearce.
Bayley and Lyra getting their title shot against The Irresistible Forces would present a different dynamic than any other previous champions and deliver an interesting matchup on WWE Raw.

CM Punk vs. Jimmy Uso
On the March 2 episode of WWE Raw, CM Punk took things a step too far to many fans when he told Roman Reigns that he will bury his WrestleMania 42 opponent next to his father.
This seemed to upset not just some fans, but also Roman’s Samoan family that is part of the WWE roster.
Looking at Reigns’ cousins in WWE, it could be Jimmy Uso who might step up in place of Roman to face Punk in singles competition.
Jimmy facing off with Punk could add to the buildup to WrestleMania 42 with the former Bloodline member looking to fight for their family.
