The highly respected William Regal debuted in AEW during AEW’s Revolution PPV. He was greeted with a thunderous ovation, trying to keep Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson apart, who had just gone through an epic altercation.
On the following episode of Dynamite, an emotional Regal promised that Mox & Danielson are going to a tough test for everyone facing them. Obviously, both Danielson and Moxley stood under Regal’s learning tree, with Danielson even wearing red ring gear in his honor.
The men are now collectively known as the Blackpool Combat Club, seemingly adding Wheeler Yuta to their ranks this past Friday.
With that in mind, here are are six more younger elite stars that Regal could take under his wing.
6. Brian Pillman Jr

In September 2021 Pillman Jr. had a mini-feud with MJF, showing that he can definitely hang as a singles wrestler. After his Varsity Blonds ventures come to an end, Pillman might need some guidance, and William Regal is right there.
Brian Pillman Sr. and Regal, then known as “Lord Steven Regal”, only clashed twice in singles action, both times involving the WCW World Television Championship.
Therefore Regal knows the championship ambitions of the Pillmans and can definitely guide the young son of the late great Brian Pillman to championship glory.
5. Lee Moriarty

Lee Moriarty joined AEW as some sort of insider’s tip amongst indy-wrestling fans. Since being part of the company Moriarty has impressed with matches against the likes of Bryan Danielson, Joey Janela & Shawn Spears.
Danielson even name-dropped Moriarty as one of the names he wanted to guide when trying to team with Jon Moxley, showing that he has taken great interest in helping Lee Moriarty himself.
Adding in the endless expertise of William Regal it is almost a certainty that Moriarty is going to flourish and reach the heights everyone already pictured him in.
4. Leyla Hirsch

“Legit” Leyla is one of the biggest prospects in AEW’s Women’s Division. Having wrestled incredible matches inside and outside of the company against the likes of LuFisto, Kris Statlander, and most recently Thunder Rosa.
However, between her in-ring abilities and her skills on the microphone, there is still a huge gap. William Regal helping out a fellow mat-based athlete would only make sense.
In addition, their history of coming to the United States for wrestling does show quite the similarities on which you can surely create a bond.
3. Kip Sabian

Since being brutally attacked by Miro, Sabian was out with an injury and now has been sitting in the crowd, wearing a paper bag on his head for months.
We surely can all agree that is a very pointless use of someone that showed a lot of promise in the early days of All Elite Wrestling.
“Superbad” might just need the aid of a fellow brit to achieve his destiny. The combination of Regal & Sabian would serve for some entertaining television for sure.
2. Anthony Ogogo

Absolutely a must-happen scenario. Ogogo got the fans on his side during his storyline with Cody Rhodes, which signaled the beginning of the downward spiral for the latter.
Since then Ogogo has been plagued by injuries and is associated with QT Marshall’s Factory, which does not seem to help the former boxer progress as he should.
William Regal’s influence should turn Ogogo into the star AEW would want. Both promo-wise and in-ring Ogogo’s skills would certainly go up big time with the 3-decade long wisdom by the former multi-time champion.
1. Daniel Garcia

If this does not happen, I do not know anymore. Daniel Garcia is the perfect prospect. Bryan Danielson even said that he wants Garcia on his side.
Garcia and 2point0 recently became members of the Jericho Appreciation Society which makes this somewhat unlikely to happen any time soon, but that doesn’t mean it’ll never happen.
Garcia already has an insane skill-set at a very young age – being taught and managed by William Regal would help Garcia to use his unique abilities to maximum effectiveness.
