The first Evolution in 2018 saw several performers from WWE’s past return to the ring for the company’s first-ever all-women’s show — with the battle royal in particular featuring a host of legendary names.
The second show, set for 13 July, has already seen the former two-time Divas Champion Nikki Bella declare for the battle royal.
There is little doubt that, while unannounced, more names from the past will also appear in the match.
Below are five WWE stars of the past we could see return.
5. Brie Bella

This year’s Evolution was supposed to see The Bella Twins reunite and challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Titles against Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
Nikki Bella returned to WWE programming to set this up, but plans changed when Morgan was injured — and we never saw an appearance from Brie Bella.
But could we still see the sisters reunite on the show?
With Nikki confirmed for the battle royal, it seems like a perfect opportunity to bring Brie back also as a big surprise.

4. Paige

Two-time Divas Champion, Saraya recently announced that she had not had any conversations with WWE about a return to the company.
While that may very well be true, the statement could also be intended to counter speculation that has been mounting since her AEW departure in the spring.
Saraya recently told Chris Van Vliet that she would “think about it” should the opportunity arise for an appearance at Evolution, given that she was forced to sit out the original event due to her neck injury.
In what would be her first WWE match since 2017, could we see Paige make her return in the battle royal at Evolution?

3. Lita

One of WWE’s most iconic female stars, Lita is currently conspicuous by her absence from the Evolution card.
While she appeared at the first Evolution in a tag match with fellow Attitude Era legend Trish Stratus against Mickie James and Alicia Fox, the 50-year-old hasn’t wrestled since WrestleMania 39 in 2023.
However, there’s been no talk of an official retirement, so fans can hang on to hope of seeing the Hall of Famer back inside a WWE ring on Sunday.
With her bestie Trish Stratus already confirmed for a huge spot on the Evolution card, it seems fitting to bring Lita back as well.

2. Alundra Blaze

At the first Evolution event in 2018, Medusa appeared as her WWE persona Alundra Blayze, entering the Battle Royal.
This marked her first in-ring appearance since 2000, when she competed in a “Pittsburgh Plunge Scaffold Match” at WCW’s Fall Brawl, teaming with Billy Kidman in a losing effort against Shane Douglas and Torrie Wilson.
Few can doubt her legacy in wrestling, a pioneering star in both Japan and the US, or indeed her infamy in WWE — controversially dropping the WWF Women’s Championship into a trash can live on WCW Nitro.
Could we see the legendary figure come out of retirement once again for another Battle Royal? She’s already made it public that she wants to do so, so certainly one to keep an eye on.

1. Mickie James

Mickie James last appeared in WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble — then representing TNA as the promotion’s Knockouts Champion.
Inarguably, one of the trailblazers of WWE’s modern women’s division, James was a skilled in-ring performer during an era where “bra and panties” matches were the norm more than proper in-ring competition.
Few can doubt her storied career: a 10-time world champion, with five reigns in WWE and five as TNA Knockouts Champion.
Given her legacy as a pioneering star, James is a name we could very well see return at Evolution on 13 July.
