Since WWE announced that it acquired the Mexico based promotion AAA in April 2025, the partnership has been innovative.
With WWE stars appearing in AAA and AAA stars gaining popularity through main roster appearances, there could be even more coming up between the two promotions.
Here are five WWE changes that could be coming to AAA soon.
5. Main Roster Crossovers
With the launch poster for AAA on FOX featuring front and center the likes of Dominik Mysterio, Lola Vice, El Hijo del Vikingo, PENTA, El Grande Americano and Rey Mysterio — it seems there are more crossovers with AAA to come.
But unlike the NXT crossovers with TNA Wrestling, it would make sense to keep the AAA partnership entirely unique by bringing in main roster talent.
With main roster stars able to appear in Mexico as a part of a short term storyline, it could end up proving to be a great partnership.
A great place for character development in front of a generally enthusiastic crowd, bringing over the likes of the Wyatt Sicks or American Made would be able to bring more fun storytelling to TV.

4. Mixed Tag Team Tournament
With a growing number of mixed tag teams that could be in action in WWE, it would make sense to host a mixed tag team tournament in AAA.
Using the existing mixed tag competition in the promotion and pitting them against several WWE mixed tag teams could bring plenty of attention to AAA.
With the AAA Mixed Tag Team titles already being held by Chelsea Green and Ethan Page, there could be challengers from the main roster, NXT and even TNA Wrestling interested in getting involved.
Making for a fun reason for fans to check out AAA, the ultimate winners could get the next title shot at Green and Page.

3. New Title Designs
One thing that WWE could bring to AAA that even longstanding fans of the promotion can agree on is providing a refreshed look to the championship belts.
With the AAA Mega Championship being held by Dominik Mysterio at the same time as holding the Intercontinental Championship, the AAA belt design did not look as impressive.
Possibly introducing new title belt designs that pay homage to the current AAA Championships but giving them a refresh would be a simple fix with a big impact.
Particularly debuting a new title design after current WWE holders drop the titles as a natural transition point — the updated designs could spur even more competition.

2. WWE Performance Center Mexico
One change that could be of a great benefit for pro wrestling opportunities in Mexico is a WWE-affiliated training center in the works.
AAA has already confirmed that a Performance Center will open in Mexico by mid-2026 with a focus on training talent similarly to the WWE Performance Center in Florida.
While it seems there is not plans to build an arena at the center for TV tapings such as NXT, certainly the central training and sports medicine center will be beneficial.
Bringing more talent under the WWE umbrella, it could be that there are new main roster talent that end up getting called up from AAA instead of just NXT.

1. New Characters
Since AAA is already home to some unique and over the top wrestling characters, it is the perfect place to expand the talent pool.
The Wyatt Sicks have already brought some of their spooky mystique to AAA with a feud seemingly set to continue in the promotion with The Wyatt Sicks accepting Los Psycho Circus’ challenge to a Carnival of Carnage at Guerra de Titanes on December 20.
With Omos already thrilling fans with his win of the AAA Copa Bardhal Battle Royal at TripleMania which included a viral interaction with AAA’s Microman — there could be more new characters coming soon to AAA.
While fans of current AEW talent Danhausen continue to await his contract with AEW to expire, perhaps he could be another intriguing character addition to AAA’s roster.
