With WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event fast approaching, there could be some surprises that end up shocking fans on the night.
From superstar returns, to potential swerves in storyline, there could be some very interesting events that end up shaping the future in WWE at John Cena’s final farewell.
Here are five surprises that could end up happening at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
5. Mystery Attacker Strikes Again
Following on from the big mystery at the end of WWE Survivor Series WarGames, Saturday Night’s Main Event could absolutely play host to another surprise run-in from CM Punk’s masked mystery attacker.
Jumping over the barricade to scale the cage, the figure was covered from head to toe in black clothing, leaving no clue to their identity aside from their build and ease in which they got in and out the cage.
Potentially getting involved again at Saturday Night’s Main Event, maybe this time Cody Rhodes or even John Cena could be on the receiving end of the attack.
With the mystery yet to be solved, there is a possibility that a new layer to the mystery could be added at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

4. Austin Theory Returns
While the reason for his absence hasn’t been fully divulged, aside from former tag team partner Grayson Waller noting that he was “injured”, Austin Theory has been out of action in WWE since July.
Potentially related to the masked man from WarGames — Austin Theory could make a return at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington D.C.
Able to make a surprise return in a number of places on the night, he could also prove to be the final thorn in the side of John Cena ahead of his big departure.
While fans are expecting a clear cut match between Cena and GUNTHER — perhaps John Cena has one last feat of sports entertainment magic left in him before he rides off into the sunset.

3. Oba Femi Squashes Cody Rhodes
After recapturing the NXT Championship from Ricky Saints at NXT Deadline, Oba Femi was confirmed to be the NXT star to face off against Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Since there is a rare opportunity for an NXT talent to pick up a massive victory over a main roster star — with the ‘exhibition match’ being clearly communicated — perhaps there will be a shock victory by an NXT star.
Possibly setting up the new feud between Rhodes and his next main roster opponent, a distraction from an entrance (such as Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar) could definitely play into the finish.
If the entire bout was Oba Femi getting an early advantage over Rhodes into a surprise pinfall victory — the bout could accomplish moving several storylines forward.

2. Chad Gable & Creed Brothers vs. Los Americanos Added
With potential of an imminent Chad Gable return, it would be the ideal final match to pit American Made against the new trio that has developed in his absence, Los Americanos.
With Ludwig Kaiser picking up the masked mantle of El Grande Americano and going on to expand his ranks — adding Rayo Americano (Pete Dunne) and Bravo Americano (Tyler Bate), it could be that the groups are headed for a showdown.
While it could be short notice, there would seemingly be no bout that is more amusing than this one, since patriotism could be at an all-time high for the event in the nation’s capital.
While it remains to be seen if Chad Gable will be fit for a return, it feels as if a meeting with Los Americanos is inevitable.

1. Randy Orton Returns
A WWE legend that has been absent from TV as of late is Randy Orton, with “The Viper” MIA since October.
Possibly set to make a return in the near future, a bout at the farewell event for John Cena would make complete sense.
Whether he makes just an appearance or ends up in an in-ring bout against an NXT star, Randy Orton could be a great addition to the event.
With plenty of lapsed fans likely to tune in for the event, seeing another legendary star like Randy Orton show up would be a perfect way to appeal to the nostalgic audience.
