On the 22 July edition of NXT, North American Champion Ethan Page unveiled a new title belt, decked out in the colours of the Canadian flag.
As intended, the change in design did not go down well with NXT’s live audience.
However, belt redesigns — and even reversions to older designs — are nothing new in WWE; rather, they are something that tends to occur periodically.
Below are five belts we could soon see redesigned.
5. World Heavyweight Championship

The current WWE World Championship, held by GUNTHER, stands out from the Undisputed World Championship.
Stylistically, it’s modelled on a classic design more akin to the iconic “Big Gold Belt” – first introduced as the NWA Title, later becoming the WCW World Championship, and reintroduced in WWE in 2002 – rather than the more contemporary look of the other world title.
Given the historical significance of the “Big Gold Belt” design, could we see it fully reintroduced for a new generation?
Given GUNTHER’s presentation as a “classic world champion” in the vein of a Harley Race, bringing back this design would make strong stylistic sense.

4. United States Championship

Solo Sikoa is the current United States Champion, having defeated Jacob Fatu at Night of Champions.
Sikoa is carrying the belt design first introduced in 2020 – featuring an American eagle with its wings spread across the plate, with the red and white stripes of the American flag beneath.
In a classic heel move, like Ethan Page, we could see Sikoa look to customise the belt.
Could we see the debut of an MFT-themed United States Title at SummerSlam?

3. NXT Championship

On the 22 July edition of NXT, Oba Femi defended the NXT Title in a three-way match against Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura – marking the eighth defence of a championship he’s held since January.
Femi has consistently shown charisma, big-match presence, and a dominant big-man moveset, proving he’s more than ready for the main roster.
Bringing him up as an unbeaten NXT Champion could give him a true star-making push – and rather than having him drop the title, WWE could retire the belt, redesigning it for the next holder.
After such a dominant reign, the current version of the belt feels synonymous with Femi – making a redesign a fitting way to close his chapter in the developmental brand.

2. Heritage Cup

At the recent Great American Bash PLE, Tony D’Angelo threw the NXT Heritage Cup off a bridge into open water.
However, the trophy still technically belongs to current holder Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.
If the cup is set to continue being defended and hasn’t been retired, a redesign seems necessary.
Now that his feud with the D’Angelo Family appears to be over, could we see Stacks return to NXT television with a new look – and a newly designed trophy?

1. Undisputed WWE Championship

John Cena’s heel run has been a polarising affair – while the turn itself was almost universally praised, his title win at WrestleMania and subsequent reign have faced criticism.
One of the loudest complaints is that fans simply want to cheer Cena as he approaches retirement at the end of the year – and many have continued to do just that.
One possible move to push fans into booing him at SummerSlam, in his Street Fight with Cody Rhodes, would be to reintroduce the infamous “spinner belt” – the design Cena carried during his multiple title reigns between 2005 and 2013.
Reviled by large sections of the fanbase at the time, bringing back this design could be the optimal way to generate heat.
