One of WWE’s highlights in 2024 was its Backlash PLE, which took place in Lyon, France – the raucous French crowd made the show a genuinely memorable affair.

On August 31, WWE once again returns to France for Clash in Paris.

Two bouts have already been announced: John Cena vs. Logan Paul, and Stephanie Vaquer challenging for the Women’s World Title against either Naomi or IYO SKY, with current champion Naomi defending against SKY on the next episode of Raw.

More bouts will be announced in the coming weeks on WWE programming – here are five more matches that could be added to Clash In Paris.

5. Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre

In the main event of the August 8 edition of WWE SmackDown, Drew McIntyre took out Cody Rhodes, hitting him with his own Undisputed Title.

This act appears to establish McIntyre as the first challenger to Rhodes’ second reign with the title.

The belt shot will likely see Rhodes momentarily taken out of action.

We are likely, however, to see Rhodes return to television in time to set up a match with McIntyre for Paris.

4. The Wyatt Sicks vs. MFT

The August 8 edition of WWE SmackDown saw MFT faction members Talla Tonga and JC Mateo defeat The Motor City Machine Guns.

In victory, faction leader Solo Sikoa took to the microphone to state that his group was coming for the WWE Tag Team Titles.

It appears they are booking a date with the current champions, The Wyatt Sicks’ Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis.

That date could very well be August 31 in Paris.

3. Becky Lynch vs. Nikki Bella

On the August 4 edition of Raw, WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch was confronted by Nikki Bella.

The two stars went back and forth, trading pointed barbs, before Lynch sucker-punched Bella and ran away.

Clearly, they are building towards a clash over the title between the pair.

Paris looks likely to see the first-ever one-on-one bout between two of WWE’s biggest female stars, a clash of generations in the French capital.

2. Solo Sikoa vs. Sami Zayn

The MFT faction could be busy in Paris – as well as potentially challenging for the WWE Tag Team Titles, Solo Sikoa could be defending his US Title.

On the August 8 edition of WWE SmackDown, Sami Zayn appeared as a surprise in front of his native Canada, taking on Sikoa.

Defeating the leader of the MFT in a non-title match, it suggests a shot at the title is coming for Zayn.

Given Zayn’s popularity and the reaction he would likely get in Paris, it seems likely that is where he will get his title shot.

1. Roman Reigns, CM Punk & LA Knight vs. Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed

The main event of the August 4 edition of Raw saw new World Heavyweight Champion Champion Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed beating down and laying out Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and LA Knight.

While Reigns is set for a short hiatus due to his role in the new Street Fighter movie, he is still scheduled to appear in Paris.

The question is which direction the company will go first – Reigns, Punk, and Knight all have storyline reasons for one-on-one matches with Rollins.

While these are matches that are all on the near horizon, the ending of Raw suggests that in Paris, we are likely to see a big-time trios match first.
