On Sunday, July 13 WWE is finally bringing back the Evolution premium live event following a seven year absence.

Based on how things went during the inaugural event, many legends may show up to compete or make cameos – mixing it up with the current crop of female WWE stars.

Here are five former WWE stars to return at Evolution 2025.

5. Victoria Crawford (Alicia Fox)

While it’s been over three years since her last WWE match, Alicia Fox aka Victoria Crawford, is currently enjoying a career resurgence outside the company, competing on the independent scene as well as TNA Wrestling.

Making her TNA debut in the Spring, the former WWE Divas Champion is the current Deputy Director of Authority alongside Santino Marella, while also competing in the TNA Knockout’s Division – even facing off with Masha Slamovich for the company’s top female prize last month.

With the growing relationship between WWE and TNA, there is a strong possibility that Crawford might do a one-off appearance at Evolution.

To this day she is still quite popular with the fans, and former on-screen partner Noam Dar would certainly welcome her back with open arms.

4. AJ Lee

No female name has been demanded back more in recent years than former two-time WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee.

The real-life wife of CM Punk, who himself returned to WWE after a 10-year break, has been expected back ever since her husband showed up at Survivor Series in 2023.

AJ Lee revolutionised WWE like few others in the company’s history, paving the way for many of the top performers in the women’s division over the last decade.

With dream matches against the the likes of Rhea Ripley, Roxanne Perez and Bianca Belair on the table, there are few Evolution returns that would hit quite the same as AJ Lee.

3. Lita

WWE legend Lita

Lita is about as reliable as it gets for WWE when it comes to delivering guaranteed nostalgia pops from the crowd, as well as providing solid in-ring appearances.

One of the most legendary and decorated women to ever step into a WWE ring. Lita is someone who has been brought back on several occasions by WWE and one would expect she could show up in some way at Evolution 2.

Whether it be teaming with a young, upcoming talent from NXT or tying up with a fellow legend of her own era, Lita is a no brainer to return at WWE Evolution…

But perhaps Lita is not returning alone…

2. Trish Stratus

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus

Lita and Trish Stratus are synonymous with one another both as rivals and tag team partners.

At WWE Evolution 2018 Lita and Trish teamed to take on Mickie James and Alicia Fox, with the Hall of Famers coming out on top.

With both legends beloved by the crowd, perhaps WWE can do the same again – only against an up and coming tag team from NXT or main roster.

But it likely wouldn’t be the only tag team match on the show…

1. Brie Bella

Nikki Bella returned to WWE on this past Monday’s episode of Raw, with one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan taking her out with an Oblivion.

While WWE could always book a singles match between Nikki and Liv at Evolution, recent reports from TMZ and WrestleVotes have suggested that Nikki may not be going into that fight alone.

With WWE and Brie Bella reportedly in talks regarding a return, The Bella Twins could be set to challenge Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

It just writes itself, doesn’t it?
