With AEW Worlds End 2025 fast approaching on December 27, there could be some major storyline shifts coming soon.
Since the new year could bring some new year’s resolutions to be a better human, there are some AEW stars that may end up turning babyface by the end of 2025.
Here are five potential babyface turns that could happen at AEW Worlds End 2025.
5. Max Caster

Although Max Caster certainly still has heelish tendencies, there has been some indication that he could be headed back to a more carefree version in the near future.
While he and Anthony Bowens continue to work out their issues, it might be that in the end it ends up being Caster that find his babyface side yet again.
Able to bring the duo together to perhaps create a brand new (but likely still provocative) gimmick of their very own, the clever pair could drop the Daddy Ass references for something fresh.
Bringing together the dynamic duo again could be a fun nostalgic moment for AEW while also bringing forward something entirely new for Bowens & Caster.

4. Jon Moxley

In an unlikely babyface turn, it may end up being less about the righteous actions of Jon Moxley at Worlds End 2025 and more about his group turning on him.
With the Death Riders seemingly losing confidence in their fearsome leader as of late after a series of losses, it could be that the group looks to shake things up.
Ousting Moxley from the group wouldn’t necessarily guarantee that he is fully a babyface but if the attack were particularly vicious enough, it could inspire some sympathy for Mox.
Having his own band of jackals end up turning on him and taking him out in a manner similar to the way that he ousted Bryan Danielson could be a fascinating end cap to the Death Riders (as led by Jon Moxley) storyline.

3. Athena

While she has been exceptional in her heel work across ROH and AEW, fans are still quite fond of Athena.
Potentially able to segue her heel persona into a more babyface presentation, there could be a simple route for the star to flip to the light side.
Set to take on the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale at AEW Worlds End, Athena could certainly find herself on the receiving end of a vicious attack by her tag team partner.
If Athena were to have a major falling out with Mercedes Mone that led to not only her babyface turn but also a feud for the pair moving forward — there could be some very interesting new stories coming to the AEW women’s division in 2026.

2. MJF

Making his return to AEW TV after last being seen at AEW All Out, MJF slipped right back into his heelish antics.
With seemingly the field stacked against him at Worlds End 2025, perhaps there could be some sort of surprise in store from MJF.
Although not entirely plausible, the character switch-up might be possible particularly given MJF’s recent return to AEW TV.
Possibly looking to freshen up his character, there could be a betrayal towards the audience coming in 2026 by which MJF pretends to be a babyface — only to turn heel again.

1. Marina Shafir

In the event the Death Riders turn on Jon Moxley, it would seem possible that Shafir would refuse to go along with the group.
Potentially taking her own vicious assault at the hands of the group, there could be an interesting opportunity for a new partnership to emerge on-screen between the cast aside Moxley and Shafir and other new allies.
With certainly Roderick Strong (Shafir’s real life husband) as a candidate to link up with the duo to go against the Death Riders, there could be other interested parties as well.
Potentially recruiting Eddie Kingston and Megan Bayne, Shafir’s MegaProblems tag team partner — there could be a deadly new faction created for 2026.
