The first matches in the upcoming WWE Intercontinental Championship tournament on Raw have been announced.
On last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, it was announced that a new tournament would take place to crown the next number one contender for Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship.
Last week, Jey Uso was the first person to declare himself for the tournament, and we now know the first two matches that will take place on the show.
Per WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, tonight’s show will feature the first two tournament matches, which will both be contested as Triple Threat matches.
The first will pit The Miz, Xavier Woods and Pete Dunne against each other for a shot at Breakker’s title, while the other will see Kofi Kingston, Karrion Kross and Jey Uso face off for the opportunity.
Breakker last defended the Intercontinental Championship on Raw against Sami Zayn two weeks ago in a rematch from SummerSlam, where Breakker captured the title.
