On the go-home show of NXT, two final qualifying matches were held for the North American Championship Ladder Match at TakeOver: XXX. The first was Johnny Gargano vs. Ridge Holland. The second match featured Velveteen Dream vs. Finn Balor.
In the opening match of the night, Johnny Gargano and Ridge Holland had an intense match-up. Gargano took a brutal spot during the match. He landed square on his head in what appeared to be a communication break-down.

Gargano would get up and keep fighting. Truly, I’m not sure how. He would go on to win and earn a spot in the upcoming ladder match.
The second match of the night featured Velveteen Dream and Finn Balor. Technically, it featured everyone involved in the ladder match and then some.
Velveteen Dream won the match after interference from Cameron Grimes, Johnny Gargano, Damian Priest, Bronson Reed, and Timothy Thatcher. Gargano pushed a ladder over forcing Grimes to fall into the ring.

Grimes hit the ref and the schmoz was on. Eventually, all the guys were out fighting. Timothy Thatcher came from the crowd and took out Balor. This allowed Velveteen Dream to get the pin after hitting his finisher on Balor.
So Velveteen Dream and Johnny Gargano join Cameron Grimes, Bronson Reed, and Damian Priest. Which wrestler will walk out with the NXT North American Championship?
