A retired AEW star has taken to social media to announce that he recently underwent neck surgery.

With his last match coming against former tag team partner Trent Beretta in April 2024, Chuck Taylor has spent 2025 working behind the scenes for AEW after hanging up his boots due to osteonecrosis of his ankle.

While that was the reason he retired from active competition, Taylor announced on Instagram that he underwent neck surgery – sharing a picture of the huge scar on his neck following the procedure, along with the caption:

Got my neck cut off

AEW’s Will Ospreay, who also underwent neck surgery this year, Swerve Strickland and WWE’s Johnny Gargano were among the names to share messages in the comments of Taylor’s post, with the former Best Friends member keeping things somewhat light hearted by sharing an image of himself with a cute dog along with the post surgery images.

We at WrestleTalk wish Taylor a safe and speedy recovery from surgery.
