There are several AEW stars that could take the world by surprise and make incredible debuts at WWE WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

With recent AEW departures such as Penta & Ricky Saints finding immediate success in WWE, more could follow suit.

From stars that seem very likely to make a debut in WWE soon to others that may sound a bit more surprising – a debut at WrestleMania 41 would be special for any of them.

Here are seven AEW stars that could make their WWE debuts at WrestleMania 41.

7. Saraya

AEW star Saraya, aka former WWE star Paige

While Saraya just recently confirmed that she had departed AEW, speculation that she could be WWE bound had already begun in anticipation of her contract ending.

Whether or not the former Paige wants to return to in-ring action frequently in WWE or rather make periodic appearances – it would be great to see her make a return.

Given the rumors that WWE will host a second edition of the all female Evolution premium live event in July 2025, perhaps we will see Paige make an appearance at WrestleMania 41 to start a program.

6. Aleister Black

With fans already assuming that the dark themed vignettes that have been airing recently on WWE SmackDown are related to his return, Aleister Black could make his return at WrestleMania 41.

The former Malakai Black in AEW has been thought to be returning to WWE after his previous stint on the main roster was regarded as underwhelming.

While WWE fans remain hopeful that Aleister Black will be given new life in a Triple H helmed WWE, one way for the return to make a giant impact would be to have it happen at WrestleMania 41.

With WrestleMania known for thunderous crowd reactions for surprise returns, it would be great to see Aleister Black receive that warm reception.

5. Rusev

Another WWE star who moved on to AEW and is thought to be making his way back is Rusev (Miro).

With potential scores to settle with several active WWE stars, Rusev could conceivably arrive to interfere or at least create a menacing presence during any number of the WrestleMania 41 matches already announced.

It remains to be seen whether or not his real-life wife Lana (CJ Perry) will also make a WWE return, but it is fun to imagine WrestleMania 41 being the official first Rusev Day of his new tenure in the company.

Also deserving of the moment of WWE adulation before potentially moving on to being a heel going forward, Rusev would be a great surprise to see at WrestleMania 41.

4. Abadon

It was recently confirmed that after their contract expires, Abadon is set to depart AEW.

While the unique star was beloved by fans when they did appear, Abadon certainly had skills featured on ROH that never quite made the jump to AEW.

This might seem like a bit of an outside choice for WrestleMania 41 but don’t count them out of NXT Stand & Deliver.

If Abadon is gone from AEW, their character may have a place on WWE television.

3. Danhausen

AEW star Danhausen

Where in the world is Danhausen? Well, while he has been absent from AEW TV for a very long time – his last AEW in-ring appearance coming in December 2023 – he remains active in independent wrestling.

After popping up at ROH Final Battle in Decemeber 2024, the Very Nice, Very Evil star again disappeared.

Danhausen objectively delights fans and sells a lot of merchandise, whether or not you want to use ‘comedy wrestler’ in a negative sense – there is still a lot of life in this compelling character.

Perhaps best fit for a debut at NXT Stand & Deliver, it would still be an incredible WrestleMania 41 weekend moment to have a pop-up from Danhausen.

2. Wardlow

Speaking of AEW stars that have gone largely unseen for an extended period of time – Wardlow would make another intriguing surprise at WrestleMania 41.

Having been absent from in-ring action since March 2024 where he lost in a title bout against Samoa Joe at AEW Big Business, Wardlow could totally reinvent himself in WWE.

Able to debut and believably become an immediate threat to anyone on the roster, Wardlow could have any name and any character, and still be a dominant force.

While it isn’t clear exactly when his AEW contract is up, with reports noting Summer 2025, we’ll have to wait and see if he appears in WWE.

1. Mariah May

While this seems like the most unlikely of surprises – perhaps that is what would make it the perfect WrestleMania 41 surprise.

Recently noted as being in a “contract year”, former AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May is thought to be contracted with AEW until Summer 2025 – but May has yet to confirm contract details directly.

While the speculation that Mariah May will be free for the Summer might lend to a debut at the rumored Evolution 2, she would make a major splash as a surprise at WrestleMania 41.

With her in-ring experience and clearly compelling character work, Mariah May would be an absolute force in WWE.
