Ahead of WWE WrestleMania 42, Randy Orton turned heel and brutalized his former friend Cody Rhodes.
However, Rhodes was able to overcome Orton and defeat him to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship at Mania Night One.
Coming out of ‘The Show of Shows,’ it might be time for Orton to assemble his own faction if he hopes to find himself back in title contention sometime in the future.
Here are seven WWE stars to potentially join a new Randy Orton heel faction.
7. Drew McIntyre
Another WWE star who suffered a heartbreaking loss at WrestleMania 42 Night One is Drew McIntyre.
After months of battling one another, McIntyre came up short against Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match at ‘The Showcase of the Immortals.’
Now coming off this loss, McIntyre might need a new alliance to regain momentum within WWE.
Despite their own issues from the past, McIntyre and Randy Orton might find a tentative partnership beneficial for both men and help them get back to the Undisputed WWE Championship.
6. Matt Cardona
On the road to WrestleMania 42, Matt Cardona became one of Randy Orton’s victims in his onslaught on his way to challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
After getting in Orton’s face following his heel turn on Rhodes, Cardona found himself injured at the hands of ‘The Viper’ who ‘Pillmanized’ his arm.
While Cardona could want revenge, he might be better off going by a “if you can’t beat em, join em” mentality when it comes to Orton.
Joining forces with ‘The Legend Killer,’ Cardona could find himself in a higher position on the card and become a featured player on Friday Night SmackDown moving forward.
5. Alexa Bliss
Someone who has plenty of history with Randy Orton from years past is Alexa Bliss.
The multi-time WWE Women’s Champion went toe-to-toe with Orton during her time alongside ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt.
Showing no fear of what ‘The Viper’ can do, Bliss showed the kind of mindset that Orton may need for his new stable right now.
Convincing her to go with the devil that she knows, Orton could lead a powerful faction alongside Bliss that can take over the men’s or women’s division in the coming years.
4. Charlotte Flair
Someone else that Randy Orton has known for a very long time during and before their time in WWE is Charlotte Flair.
The second generation star gained guidance from Orton, who was once part of the Evolution stable with her father Ric Flair.
Over the past year, Flair has taken a bit of a backseat and become more of a tag team performer alongside Alexa Bliss.
Wanting to once again sit at the throne as ‘The Queen’ of WWE, Charlotte could join Orton and lead a stable filled with the best second and third generation talent in the company,
3. Je’Von Evans
Back in 2024, Randy Orton came down to WWE NXT and worked a match alongside Je’Von EVans.
This bout is remembered by many and formed a bond between the two performers involved.
Since then, Orton has been a mentor of sorts for ‘The Youngest In Charge’ and provided his knowledge to assist Evans in his journey.
Bringing their real life friendship to the screens, Orton could work in a similar fashion to what Triple H and Ric Flair was to him with Evans, setting him up to be the future of WWE for years to come.
2. Aleister Black
On the road to WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, Aleister Black was trying to convince Randy Orton to accept his darker impulses and become ‘The Apex Predator’ again.
This led to Orton not hesitating and picking up a win to beat Cody Rhodes, Logan Paul, Trick Williams, Bronson Reed and LA Knight to win the men’s Elimination Chamber.
However, the storyline originally pitched was for Black’s manipulation to lead to Orton turning heel on Cody Rhodes.
After seemingly ending his alliance with Pat McAfee with an RKO at WrestleMania 42, WWE could pick this story up by having Black align with Orton after an attack on Cody Rhodes.
1. Sami Zayn
Coming out of WWE WrestleMania 42, Sami Zayn is back to being down in the dumps after losing the United States Championship to Trick Williams.
After garnering some of the loudest boos of his career, it might be time for Zayn to try his hand at being a heel once again.
To solidify and cement this heel run, Zayn could align himself with Randy Orton with his recent comments regarding ‘The Legend Killer’ being one of his idols.
Zayn showing no remorse as he brutally attacks anyone who stands and his way should be intriguing and create some new storyline directions to explore.
