WWE’s abundance of factions across Raw, SmackDown, NXT and AAA makes it harder than ever for new groups to stand out, but that’s exactly what BirthRight has achieved since bursting onto the scene earlier this year.
Many factions over the years have simply felt like random superstars thrown together, but BirthRight has an actual theme and strict guidelines for future members.
To join BirthRight you must come from a pro wrestling family – or in Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo’s case, marry into one.
The group has already grown into a strong five person unit in NXT, but once it makes it to main roster it has the potential to grow even larger.
Here are three main roster stars who could potentially join BirthRight.
Dominik Mysterio
Now, it’s fair to say that the last thing Dominik Mysterio needs is to join another WWE faction; he is already in two after all.
However, with El Ojo exclusively a AAA group right now, and The Judgment Day currently being a bit of a shell of its former self, perhaps a change is needed for ‘Dirty Dom.’
Being a third generation star, and someone of similar age to other members of the group, Mysterio would fit right in alongside BirthRight. However, unlike the groups’s current members, who pay homage to the generations who came before them, Dom very much denounces his father at every opportunity.
Thankfully for Dom, he could always honor the legacy of his ‘real dad’ Eddie Guerrero instead.
Bron Breakker
While WWE decided not to give him the Steiner name, it wouldn’t take the average wrestling fan long to figure out that Bron Breakker is 100% Scott Steiner’s nephew and Rick Steiner’s son.
Breakker, like Dom, is currently involved in a different WWE faction: The Vision. While the group are back going strong following Bronson Reed’s return at Sunday Night’s Main Event, Breakker’s own position in the WWE ‘Next Big Thing’ pecking order has fell after the arrival of Oba Femi to Monday Night Raw.
This has in turn, led to Paul Heyman distancing himself from Breakker and The Vision, and without ‘The Oracle’ in their corner, the group may struggle to remain together long term.
Should Breakker find himself separated from The Vision for whatever reason, he could find a spot in BirthRight. However, given his vaster experience on main roster, Breakker would likely only be joining the group if he can also take it over and become its new leader.
Cody Rhodes
Another name who very well could take over BirthRight as his own is Cody Rhodes.
Out of any possible second or third generation star in WWE, ‘The American Nightmare’ would make for the most interesting new leader of BirthRight, particularly if his takeover came alongside his much teased heel turn.
Keeping all existing members as his underlings, Rhodes could use the group to cement his spot as the face of WWE and rule over the company in a fashion similar to Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.
Rather than giving a heel Cody Rhodes just any random selection of allies, BirthRight would allow him to pay homage to his father Dusty Rhodes, but do so in a immoral manner very much unbefitting of the son of ‘The American Dream.’
