WWE’s legendary prime-time show Saturday Night’s Main Event returns for its 39th edition on 24 May.
Taking place at the Yuengling Centre in Tampa, Florida, the event is set to be headlined by a world title clash between reigning champion Jey Uso and Logan Paul.
The show will undoubtedly deliver a handful of surprises, helping shape the company’s storylines ahead of a stacked summer schedule that includes Money in the Bank, Night of Champions, and a two-night SummerSlam.
Here are six surprises we could see at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
6. Randy Orton Costs John Cena His Victory

At WWE’s last PLE, Backlash, R-Truth got involved in the main event, ultimately helping John Cena retain the Undisputed Championship against Randy Orton.
For his efforts, Truth was then put through a table by Cena at the post-show press conference.
This set up a non-title match between the two at Saturday Night’s Main Event, with Truth vowing to “beat some sense” into his “childhood hero”.
The fact that it’s a non-title match is key, as it opens the door for Orton to potentially return the favour by costing Cena the victory and setting up a title rematch at Money in the Bank.

5. A New Member Joins Paul Heyman’s Faction

Paul Heyman’s new stable of Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker – despite being heels – has quickly become arguably the hottest act on WWE programming.
At Saturday Night’s Main Event, they’re set to face the star-powered duo of Sami Zayn and CM Punk in what could very well be a show-stealing tag match.
But could this bout also be the time to introduce a new member to Heyman’s faction?
A surprise third man costing Zayn and Punk the match would not only be a huge surprise – it could also set the stage for Roman Reigns’ eventual return to join the fight against Heyman’s new family.

4. Bayley Returns

Bayley has not been seen on WWE programming since being pulled from the Women’s Tag Title match at WrestleMania 41 following an attack by a mystery assailant.
It was, of course, later revealed that the attacker was Becky Lynch.
With Lynch continuing to cut promos targeting Bayley, it seems only a matter of time before the former champion returns to seek revenge.
That return could come as soon as Saturday Night’s Main Event, setting the stage for a high-profile clash at one of WWE’s major summer shows, or even for the long-rumoured return of the all-women’s PLE, Evolution.

3. Wyatt Sicks Appear

After a long absence, the Wyatt Sicks made their return to WWE programming on the May 23 edition of SmackDown.
Interfering in the main event Tag Team Title match between The Street Profits and Fraxiom, the group left a cake in the ring to mark what would have been Bray Wyatt’s 38th birthday.
The long-awaited return was met with huge excitement from the live crowd – but now the question is, what’s next for the faction?
Does their appearance on SmackDown signal a permanent move to the blue brand, or could Saturday Night’s Main Event reveal their intentions to return to Raw instead?

2. Chelsea Green Regains US Title

On the May 23 edition of WWE SmackDown, following a loss in a three-way qualifier for the Money in the Bank ladder match against Charlotte Flair and Giulia, US Women’s Champion Zelina Vega got into a heated altercation with Chelsea Green.
This confrontation led to the announcement of a title match between Vega and former and inaugural champion Green at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Though a heel, Green remains a widely popular figure, while Vega has shown clear growth as an in-ring performer, working hard in every bout.
Still, this could very well be the one title change we see on the show.

1. Damian Priest & Drew McIntyre’s Feud Finally Ends

On SmackDown, the night before WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Damian Priest declared his intention to collect his “pound of flesh” from Drew McIntyre.
The two have been locked in a heated feud for over a year – trading wins, battling for the WWE World Title, brawling through a Vegas street fight at WrestleMania, and taking brutal bumps like Priest’s “South of Heaven” through tables at Backlash.
Will their steel cage match at SNME finally mark the end of their war?
Could a violent, bloody match between bitter enemies somehow end with mutual respect – and, perhaps, a fist bump?
