With WWE WrestleMania 42 fast approaching, there are only a few weeks left to finalize the card for the big two-night event.
However, there are some top names that remain without a clear direction in the lead-up to WrestleMania, causing some fans concern that their favorites could miss the Las Vegas event entirely.
Here are seven WWE stars that could be set to miss WrestleMania 42.
7. Carmelo Hayes

After losing the WWE United States Championship to Sami Zayn on the March 27 edition of WWE SmackDown, there isn’t a direct path forward for Carmelo Hayes.
With Trick Williams staking his claim at a Mania title shot against Sami Zayn within the same episode, it might be that Hayes ends up out of luck for Las Vegas.
However, if there were to be a shift in the already announced match to include Melo, there could be some intriguing developments in the end.
Potentially leading to a reunion between Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams, a potential three-way match could also spur a brand new feud between the former friends turned rivals.
6. IYO SKY

A top star from WWE Raw that doesn’t have a match already set out for WrestleMania 42 is IYO SKY.
After featuring at the top of the WWE women’s division throughout the year, including holding the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Rhea Ripley, SKY finds herself without a bout in Las Vegas.
While her ongoing conflict with Asuka remains simmering, it could end up being that IYO SKY and Asuka have some kind of showdown at WrestleMania 42, perhaps in order to free Kairi Sane.
With Sane still loyal to Asuka despite the abuse she seemingly suffers at the hands of her Kabuki Warriors mentor, there could be an intriguing storyline for IYO SKY on the way.
5. LA Knight

One WWE fan favorite that doesn’t have a clear opponent for WrestleMania 42 is LA Knight.
While Knight continues to feud with The Vision, his working alliance with The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) seems to be on rocky ground at best.
Previously planned for a match against Brock Lesnar that was scrapped in favor of the current storyline between Lesnar and Oba Femi, there could be more developments for Knight soon.
With only a few weeks to go until WrestleMania 42, it remains to be seen where LA Knight might factor in.

4. Aleister Black

While Aleister Black has engaged in a number of compelling storylines since returning to WWE, each opponent has gone on their own way on the road to WrestleMania 42.
With Damian Priest moving on to team with R-Truth and capture the WWE Tag Team Championship, Randy Orton seemingly took Black’s advice and leaned into the voices in his head to turn against Cody Rhodes.
Also seemingly goading Sami Zayn over several weeks – which ended up leading to a bit of an identity crisis for Zayn – it would seem that while Black is influencing storylines throughout the roster, a heated in-ring rivalry for him has yet to be revealed.
Potentially circling back to enter the current bout set for Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams for the United States Championship, there could be some more developments on this week’s SmackDown.
3. Jordynne Grace

It seems that Jordynne Grace could be poised to miss what would have been her first WrestleMania since joining the main roster.
After her recent momentum on SmackDown was halted by an injury, it seems that Giulia will avoid taking on The Juggernaut in Las Vegas.
Instead, Giulia has been feuding with another top star that seemed in danger of missing out on a match at WrestleMania 42 in Tiffany Stratton.
However, whether their rivalry ends up on the Mania card – regardless of whether Grace is involved or not – is currently up in the air.

2. The Street Profits

While Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have made several big WrestleMania appearances already in their careers, it could be that the duo sit out WrestleMania 42.
It may not just be the long absent Street Profits who miss out on this year’s WrestleMania, because as it stands there are no tag team bouts set for either night of the event.
However, with both The Usos and Damian Priest & R-Truth seemingly willing and able to defend the titles from their respective brands, it may be a matter of time before several big matches are announced.
Since WWE SmackDown in particular boasts a number of solid teams such as Fraxiom, Motor City Machine Guns, Wyatt Sicks, MFTs and Angel & Berto, it could be that a multi-team match is still set to be announced.
1. Jelly Roll

While not a full-time WWE star, it certainly seemed as though Jelly Roll could have been headed for a high profile match at WrestleMania 42.
Although he has continued to make appearances in WWE, there isn’t a specific bout announced for him in Las Vegas yet, but rather, he defeated Kit Wilson in a match on the March 27 episode of SmackDown instead – before he was later laid out by a Randy Orton RKO.
Possibly set to feature in a segment on the show rather than a proper match, there could be any number of fun appearances on the short road to WrestleMania that would bring the country music superstar back into contention.
However, it’s also possible that the Orton RKO has written him out of the WrestleMania plans.
