The biggest pro-wrestling event in Germany’s history is closing in with WWE Bash In Berlin taking place later this month.

Bash in Berlin is going to shatter records, change careers and usher in a new era for the industry of continental European wrestling.

Historic might just be an understatement to the impact this event will have after the dust has settled.

Decades from now, Germans are still going to speak about the night Gunther headlined this historic night in Berlin.

Since the early 2000s, The Ring General and late greats like Karsten Beck, “Bad Bones” John Klinger and Absolute Andy rebuilt the German scene brick by brick.

Let’s find what surprises WWE could have set up to make this unprecedented evening even more unforgettable.

8. Bret Hart Appears

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart

I know that Bret Hart is not German.

But, given the reaction he received, even during his 2010s run, Bret Hart is among the most beloved WWE stars in Germany ever.

The crowd goes absolutely insane for The Hitman. Whether he’d accompany a star for their match or simply send his well wishes to the German fans.

Having Bret Hart feature on this historic event in some way is a must.

7. Sebastian “Hackman” Hackl Interferes

Another iconic figure in German wrestling is Sebastian “Hackman” Hackl.

His nickname was coined by Michael Cole many years ago during WrestleMania.

Hackl has been commentating on WWE shows in Germany since 2010.

In addition he had several matches himself, including but not limited to wXw.

A couple of weeks ago it was announced he would be calling the action alongside SmackDown’s German commentator Manu Thiele ringside for WWE Bash In Berlin.

Randy Orton is entering enemy territory – what if Gunther uses the beloved commentator to his advantage?

Hackl taking an RKO would certainly be met with a huge reaction. It is Bash in Berlin and it is time to do something crazy.

6. Oro Mensah Hosts The Opening

Oro Mensah, currently part of the Meta-Four in NXT, is another name made in Germany. Even though he originally is from Switzerland, he made a name for himself in German promotions like GWF and wXw.

To get all German-speaking talents in WWE on the card, it would be a great moment to see him also get involved.

In recent weeks he received a big push, evening facing the NXT Champion Ethan Page for the gold.

He has shown the world he can talk the talk and walk the walk. Having him open the show is the great lead-in Berlin deserves.

5. Giovanni Vinci Costs Ludwig Kaiser At WWE Bash In Berlin

Giovanni Vinci, who is not currently on the card for WWE Bash In Berlin

Right now neither Ludwig Kaiser nor Ilja Dragunov feature on the card. Neither does Sami Zayn, who always has been highly popular in Germany.

So let’s do some fantasy booking here: What if Bron Breakker defends his Intercontinental title against Dragunov, Zayn and Kaiser in a four-way?

If you paid attention until here this text does not connect at all to Giovanni Vinci and you are very right.

Although Vinci is billed from Italy, he is German-speaking and made his name on the German independent wrestling scene.

His trainer? None other than the legendary Alex Wright.

Vinci was kicked out of IMPERIUM earlier this year by Ludwig Kaiser and Bash in Berlin is the right place for vengeance, as Vinci could cost Kaiser the title.

On top of that, this helps the audience to remember him for his pending singles return to SmackDown.

4. “Die Familie” Makes A Cameo

Teoman is still a highly popular star in the German independent wrestling scene ever since he was released from NXT UK.

His former stablemate Charlie Dempsey is making waves in NXT as the leader of the No Quarter Catch Crew.

Perhaps there could be room for a one-night alliance.

It would be extremely interesting to see Dempsey and Teoman reform “Die Familie” for one night for a segment.

3. Alexander Wolfe Returns

Alexander Wolfe - could he return at WWE Bash In Berlin?

Alexander Wolfe, currently going by the name “Axel Tischer”, is booked for the GWF/RevPro shows during Bash In Berlin weekend. So he is already there.

The former member of SAniTY and IMPERIUM member is one of the most highly decorated wrestlers in Europe.

WWE Bash in Berlin is the perfect place for Wolfe to make a surprise cameo or even return to the company. He is only the second German ever to sign with WWE, right behind Brakus, and the first one to ever capture gold in the company.

The former NXT Tag Team Champion would definitely turn a lot of heads, just by standing on that ramp.

2. Jazzy Gabert To Help Michin Against WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax

She is the first ever German female to sign a WWE contract:

“Alpha Female” Jazzy Gabert.

Since being released from her NXT UK contract in 2020 she has started her own promotion and is running shows all over Germany.

While being semi-retired, having her help Michin against the duo of Tiffany Stratton and WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax would certainly be the right fit.

1. Alex Wright Makes His WWE Debut

Now this is the cherry on top. The one surprise that WWE really needs to do for Bash in Berlin.

Arguably still the most well-known German wrestler in the USA and UK, Alex Wright made a name for himself in Germany.

He is the trainer of many wrestlers from Europe, including the previously named Giovanni Vinci.

Wright is best known for his energetic dancer gimmick in WCW, although he also had a brief run as “Berlyn” in the late 1990s.

The former WCW Television Champion never competed in WWE, but is on good terms with the company since he did a Performer Center guest training session a few years ago.

All I’m saying is: Have the former Berlyn in Berlin!
