‘Timeless’ Toni Storm AEW return opponents: Who will the former champion face upon her comeback?

Following AEW Revolution 2026, “Timeless” Toni Storm was found beaten down and bloodied backstage in her locker room.

Since then, Storm has been absent from AEW television for the majority of 2026.

Following comments from Tony Khan at the WrestleDream post-show media scrum, some mysterious Toni Storm Tapes were found, creating a mystery on when she will make her long awaited return.

Here are five potential “Timeless” Toni Storm AEW return opponents.

Mina Shirakawa

When “Timeless” Toni Storm was found unconscious backstage, it was Mina Shirakawa who was at the scene of the crime.

Prior to this attack, Storm had aligned with Shirakawa to become The Timeless Love Bombs.

Storm and Shirakawa became one of the best women’s tag teams in the company and top contenders for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships.

With rumors of her betraying her friend, Shirakawa could be revealed as the culprit behind Storm’s attack and the most logical return opponent for the former four-time AEW Women’s World Champion.

Thekla

In 2026, it is clear that the biggest breakout star of the year for All Elite Wrestling has been Thekla.

“The Toxic Spider” captured the AEW Women’s World Champion and has established herself as a highly entertaining character.

While she once stated that she had nothing to do with this attack, Thekla could be lying and revealed as the individual behind the assault on “Timeless” Toni Storm.

Considering there were plans for these two to do battle, Thekla facing off with Storm seems inevitable upon her return.

Marina Shafir

At AEW Revolution 2026, “Timeless” Toni Storm defeated Marina Shafir in a singles match.

The Death Riders member had become one of Storm’s biggest rivals in AEW at the time.

Shafir wanting a rematch and a measure of revenge could make for a compelling story for “The Timeless One.”

Storm squaring off with Marina Shafir could be an ideal return and set the stage for a blowoff of their rivalry.

Ronda Rousey

Following “Timeless” Toni Storm’s win over Marina Shafir at AEW Revolution 2026, Ronda Rousey made her official debut with the company by confronting the four-time AEW Women’s World Champion.

“The Baddest Woman on the Planet” seems to only be in AEW for a one-off to promote her fight with Gina Carano that took place in May.

While there were reportedly no plans for Rousey to make another appearance, AEW could reveal that the UFC Hall of Famer was behind the attack.

Rousey returning to AEW to face Storm could make for a tantalizing dream match when Toni makes her return.

Mercedes Monè

Back at AEW All In: Texas 2025, “Timeless” Toni Storm defeated Mercedes Monè to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship.

This marked the first and only time that these two top stars have clashed in an AEW ring.

In Storm’s absence, Monè has gone on to win the AEW Women’s World Championship herself.

With Storm possibly making her return soon, this could set the stage for a rematch on a major stage with Monè to do battle over the top prize in the AEW women’s division moving forward.
