“The Viper” is back, with Randy Orton is clearly now listening to the voices in his head and taking out his pent up aggression on WWE WrestleMania 42 opponent Cody Rhodes.

With his dastardly persona resurrected on the March 13 edition of WWE SmackDown, it could be that Randy Orton is gearing up for a monster heel run if he topples Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 42.

Here are six potential Undisputed WWE Championship plans for Randy Orton following WrestleMania 42.

6. Attacked By Drew McIntyre

Since there is an unhinged Drew McIntyre on the loose, it could be an interesting heel versus heel feud to see Drew McIntyre take on a newly crowned Undisputed WWE Champion, Randy Orton.

Able to reach new heights of dastardly actions against one another, it could be a fiery new feud between the two can begin as each shifts in character.

With Orton able to occupy a more dastardly and dark version which gives more room for McIntyre’s tough talking anti-hero to continue to bloom — the pair could both end up better off after feuding with one another.

Giving the perfect Backlash match for Orton, there could still be interferences and shenanigans in the finish that keep their feud alive into the future.

5. Challenged By CM Punk

Randy Orton's betrayal of Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown and World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk

If CM Punk were to drop the WWE Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 and head for SmackDown — he would leave an interesting vacancy on WWE Raw.

Leaving room for Drew McIntyre to challenge Roman Reigns (in addition to a potential program with Seth Rollins), perhaps Punk will take aim at Randy Orton.

Definitely able to maximize his babyface appeal on a new brand, Punk could make the leap to SmackDown and become an immediately viable threat to Randy Orton.

With CM Punk able to engage in a brand new back and forth with Orton, the pairing could also tee up an intriguing potential of Punk vs. Cody Rhodes down the road.

4. Rematch With Cody Rhodes At Backlash

It seems highly likely that if Randy Orton captures the WWE Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania 42, things won’t be over that easily.

With the heated rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton seemingly just beginning to get truly vicious on the March 13 edition of SmackDown, there is still a month of insults left before WrestleMania 42.

However, if Orton is to capture victory at WrestleMania 42, it seems likely that Rhodes won’t give up.

Potentially leading to an even more vicious and violent affair for the next month’s PLE Backlash, it could be that the feud between the friends turned recent foes is far from ending.

3. New Feud With Je’Von Evans

An intriguing potential feud for Randy Orton after WrestleMania 42 could certainly be Je’Von Evans.

With Evans making a massive impression during his short time thus far on the main roster, it could be that there is an even bigger step still ahead.

Able to serve as a wonderful first feud for Randy Orton’s latest World Championship reign, there could be a lot of generational comparison between the two talents.

Wtih Je’Von in contention to become the youngest ever WWE World Champion if he were to be able to best Orton — a record currently held by Orton for capturing it at SummerSlam 2004 at age 24 — the parallels are clear.

2. Try To Fend Off Jacob Fatu

With the potential to see some brand shake-ups in the spell after WrestleMania 42, Jacob Fatu could be one of the stars to stick around and challenge Randy Orton.

Even if Drew McIntyre ends up flipping brands to WWE Raw after WrestleMania 42, it would seem that Orton still has a dangerous foe lurking in Jacob Fatu.

With Fatu’s continued commitment to not only revenge but as well as success, it could be that if things are settled between McIntyre and Fatu at WrestleMania 42 — “The Samoan Werewolf” may end up taking aim at Orton.

Able to lead to a fascinating return down the road for Cody Rhodes (who may presumably disappear for a spell if he is to lose at a second straight WrestleMania), it could be that a babyface cementing feud with Fatu could be next for “The Viper.”

1. Resurrect Feud With Chris Jericho

While the future plans for Chris Jericho remain up in the air, some fans are holding out hope that he’ll make a surprise return to WWE at WrestleMania 42.

With a fascinating history shared between Chris Jericho and Randy Orton, an interesting statistic is that Jericho has never actually beaten Orton in singles competition.

While their shared history features Jericho winning over Orton via DQ or No Contest, he has never pinned nor submitted Orton.

Potentially coming back to WWE with an actual list this time — chasing specific achievements he has yet to complete in the company, a clean victory over Orton could be the first box to check.
