With Nick Aldis serving as the WWE SmackDown General Manager since his on-screen debut, he has yet to compete in a match for the company.
Having his own successful career in TNA Wrestling, the NWA and notable performances in various independent promotions, Nick Aldis could certainly find his way into WWE in-ring action sometime soon.
Here are five potential WWE in-ring debut plans for Nick Aldis.
5. Costing Drew McIntyre The Undisputed WWE Championship

With the authority figure role that Nick Aldis has played on WWE SmackDown thus far in his tenure in the company, he has bumped heads occasionally with talent.
One massive name that he could end up scrapping with is Drew McIntyre, particularly if Aldis ends up having a heavy hand in McIntyre losing the Undisputed WWE Championship.
With McIntyre notably having a disdain for any attempts at controlling his free will, his status as champion hasn’t stopped him from continuing to push boundaries.
With clear disdain between them, it could create an entertaining dynamic moving into WrestleMania 42 that could culminate with Aldis costing McIntyre the title and eventually a match between the two.

4. Non-Sanctioned Street Fight With Drew McIntyre

After undoubtedly playing some role – either real or imagined by Drew McIntyre – in McIntyre’s current Undisputed WWE Championship reign coming to an end, Nick Aldis could find himself targeted by the Scot.
With there likely being some conflict of interest if modern day WWE was sanctioning a match between someone in leadership and talent, clearly this one would have to be called ‘non-sanctioned’ and could end up being a street fight.
More precisely, the pair could have a Sin City Street Fight which sees them brawling all around the expansive Allegiant Stadium.
With the potential for some WWE Hollywood magic in the form of a pre-recorded section of fighting elsewhere on the strip, it could be that the inevitable showdown between McIntyre and Aldis is truly unique.

3. Attacked By Randy Orton

Already having had several physical encounters with Nick Aldis, Randy Orton seems like a likely candidate for a potential future match.
Suffering an attack by Drew McIntyre into a major loss against Aleister Black in the main event of SmackDown on February 20, there could be a swift shift in Orton’s demeanor.
With Black essentially pledging to resurrect the former evil version of Randy Orton, perhaps the wheels are already in motion for a major change back into The Viper.
With a built-in storyline already in place for why Orton might target Aldis given their tenuous past, the pair could go on to have a legendary match.

2. Targeted By MFTs With Match Against Solo Sikoa

With the feuding between the Wyatt Sicks and the MFTs continuing, it does seem as though an end to the back and forth is coming soon.
With Uncle Howdy challenging Solo Sikoa to a match all by himself with nobody else at ringside, perhaps Sikoa will be done with the Wyatts soon.
If he were to move forward into blaming Aldis for a loss – with or without provocation – it could end up being Sikoa facing off with Aldis.
With no shortage of history with the Bloodline, Nick Aldis could certainly find himself tangling with them yet again albeit in a different form.

1. Fall Victim To Heel Sami Zayn

With Sami Zayn having a heated backstage argument with Cody Rhodes on SmackDown on February 20, there was seemingly a tease that the fan favorite Zayn could be turning heel.
One simple way for Zayn to cement his status as a heel would be to take his frustration out on Nick Aldis regarding his lack of world title opportunities.
Able to have an exceptionally nuanced feud, Aldis would be able to similarly lay claim to being underestimated as well as lacking in current in-ring opportunities.
Leading to the duo having an undoubtedly technically and emotionally stunning match, the bout could be a WrestleMania 42 show stealer.
