Next WWE Women’s World Champion After Liv Morgan

WWE Women's World Champion Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan has held the WWE Women’s World Championship since WrestleMania 42, defeating Stephanie Vaquer to win the gold.

Her reign has been an odd one, with Morgan having only defended the gold twice over the past 146 days.

Between critics wanting more frequent title defenses, and fans hoping to see more from Liv Morgan’s championship run, there has been a lot of speculation about the next star to hold the Women’s World Championship.

Here are five stars who could become the next Women’s World Champion, following Liv Morgan.

Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer have both targeted Liv Morgan and her championship in recent weeks.

With Vaquer unsuccessfully challenging for Morgan’s Women’s World Championship on the September 7 Raw episode, Lynch looks to be next in line for a shot at the Judgment Day member’s gold.

Things have turned personal between Lynch and Morgan, with the champion recently insulting Lynch’s husband, Seth Rollins.

Becky Lynch is a dependable star who has proven herself as champion in the past, and could be the next competitor to hold Raw’s top women’s title.

Bayley

The September 7 Raw episode also featured Bayley’s return, with the Role Model attacking Lyra Valkyria to cost her the Money in the Bank ladder match qualifier against Maxxine Dupri and eventual winner Lyra Valkyria.

While Bayley looks set to continue her feud with her former tag-team partner, it would make sense to see the former WWE Women’s Champion want to win world title gold again in the future.

With Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and the road to WrestleMania 43 ahead of us, Bayley would be the ideal candidate to be the face of the women’s division through the company’s next major season.

If fan conversations during her absence were anything to go by, a Bayley Women’s World Championship win would be eagerly welcomed by fans.

Roxanne Perez

Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez became a close tandem following the latter name joining the Judgment Day, however their relationship is very conditional.

With Morgan taking Perez under her wing, there has occasionally been friction between the duo when Perez has attempted to outstretch her own wings.

With Perez previously questioning why more stars aren’t challenging for Liv Morgan’s gold, we could perhaps see the Prodigy take her own advice and step up to her mentor.

The student defeating their mentor is a tale as old as time, and we could see this play out with Morgan and Perez.

Raquel Rodriguez

Compared to Morgan and Perez, there is a lot more history between Liv Morgan and her other teammate, Raquel Rodriguez, with the duo first sharing the ring in 2022, prior to both stars’ Judgment Day faction.

While the duo have held the Women’s Tag Team Championship together four times, their relationship can be more tumultuous when both stars are competing in the singles division.

Things turned rocky earlier this year, with Liv Morgan eliminating Rodriguez from the Royal Rumble, and costing her a subsequent Women’s World Title bout ahead of WrestleMania 42.

While Rodriguez currently holds the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, if she were to lose this title, we could see her target her friend.

Sol Ruca

Sol Ruca made her WWE Raw in-ring debut on the April 20 episode, facing Liv Morgan in a non-title match, two days following Morgan’s Women’s World Title victory.

While Ruca came up short following interference from Zaria, the rising star has experienced a lot of success in the months since, notably holding the Women’s Intercontinental Championship for 57 days after defeating Becky Lynch at Clash In Italy.

With Sol Ruca having a breakout year on the main roster, it would be fulfilling for it to end in the same way it began, with a match against Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.

Sol Ruca qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match on this past Monday’s edition of WWE Raw. If she wins the Money in the Bank briefcase on October 10, she will be able to challenge for Morgan’s gold any time she wants.
