With the first two months of 2026 seeing a number big signings debut in AEW, there could be a few more tag teams joining the ranks.
Following new teams like The Rascalz, Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors and Bustah & The Brain, there could certainly be more teams arriving from both the indies and NJPW in the near future.
Here are five potential new AEW tag teams to arrive soon.
5. The Hammer Brothers

A pair of indie stars that could be absolutely perfect in AEW and catch fire with the audience is The Hammer Brothers, Jack & Sledge Hammer.
An incredibly fun duo of characters, the unique blue collar brawlers dress in orange construction vests and jeans to complete their attire as the “Brothers of Construction”.
Their unique look continues with Sledge Hammer being touted at over 500lbs, his size is deceptive in terms of his speed, agility and abilities in the ring.
With a similar vibe to The Outrunners, the Hammer Brothers come complete with their own catchphrase (“When you’re a hammer, everyone is a nail!”) and replicable look — the Hammer Brothers would be a perfect fun addition to any AEW show.

4. Authors of Pain

Former WWE tag team Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) are a team who could find themselves joining the AEW tag team division in 2026.
Bringing a frightening prescience to WWE, the duo were both NXT Tag Team Champions as well as WWE Raw Tag Team Champions.
Having returned for a second stint in WWE, the pair were released after being in The Final Testament faction along with another duo that AEW fans might be excited to see.
Previously partnering with Karrion Kross and Scarlett (as well as Paul Ellering), perhaps the whole squad might be back together one day in AEW.

3. The Skyscrapers (Bishop Dyer & Donovan Dijak)

A pair of former WWE stars who have united in MLW to form a new tag team is Bishop Dyer (Baron Corbin) and Donovan Dijak.
Appearing in MLW as The Skyscrapers, the pair currently reign as MLW Tag Team Champions after capturing the titles back in June 2025.
Potentially making for a dangerous new alliance, the pair would be arriving in AEW at an interesting time for the tag team division with recent addition of some intriguing new stars.
With the arrivals of Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors, The Rascalz, continued dominance of FTR and the return of Private Party — there could be some very big new rivalries ahead.

2. Violence Is Forever (Kevin Ku & Dominic Garrini)

A pair of heavy hands from the indies that could be an intriguing addition to the AEW tag team division could be Violence is Forever (Kevin Ku & Dominic Garrini).
Formerly holding the GCW World Tag Team Championship, the pair have made appearances in AEW in the past.
Popping up numerous times including Ku having a match against Powerhouse Hobbs on Collision as well as appearing as security during angles — there could be a bigger role in the company for them in the future.
Also popping up in trios action in ROH (teaming with Davey Bang), perhaps 2026 will be the year for the tag team to officially join the company.

1. Unbound Co. (Drilla Moloney & Hiromu Takahashi)

One particularly compelling tag team that could make their way to AEW may be Unbound Co.
While the Unbound Co. faction in NJPW contains quite a few members, it could be that two standouts may be making their way to AEW soon: Hiromu Takahashi and Drilla Moloney.
Free agent Hiromu Takahashi certainly wouldn’t need a pal in order to arrive in AEW however, but it could make for an interesting twist to see Drilla Moloney join his other former Bullet Club War Dogs in Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors in the company.
Potentially swapping out Takahashi for David Finlay depending on what the future holds for him, there could be even more NJPW stars joining AEW in the near future.
