WWE legends Haku and AJ Styles

WWE has long shown a consistent trend of having former legendary stars of the past come back to become a manager.

From the likes of Captain Lou Albano to Ric Flair, some of the all-time greats have found a new lease on life in the business as a manager.

Looking at the names signed to WWE Legends deals or available to return to the company, these Hall of Famers and iconic stars could still have meaningful roles in the company as cornermen and women.

Here are six more WWE legends who could potentially return as managers.

6. Armando Estrada

Armando Estrada was the manager of Umaga and General Manager of ECW during his time in WWE

During the 2000s, Armando Estrada made his WWE debut as the handler for the newest star on the roster, Umaga.

Over the next year, Umaga ran roughshod over anyone and everyone in front of him with Estrada by his side.

While Estrada’s relationship with Umaga quietly ended, Armando would go on to become the General Manager of the ECW brand after that.

Now that he is back with the company under a Legends deal, it would make sense to see Estrada make his return to manage a new star on the WWE roster in the near future.

5. Teddy Long

During his time with WWE, Teddy Long is most remembered for his long stint as SmackDown General Manager.

Becoming known for his unique delivery and tendency to put heels one-on-one with The Undertaker, Long made a name for himself as GM and someone who is most known for his time in the role.

However, Long also served as a manager to talent like Rodney Mack and Jazz before he made the transition to a General Manager position.

Teddy Long returning to WWE might lead to him returning to his roots and once again become a manager to a new crop of talent in the company.

4. The Godfather

Charles Wright played multiple different characters in WWE, including The Godfather, Kama Mustafa and Papa Shango

Another former WWE star who has signed a Legends deal with the promotion is The Godfather.

The former Intercontinental Champion is regularly mentioned among the most popular characters of the Attitude Era.

With everything he has accomplished and his noteworthy moments during his time in WWE, The Godfather is someone who holds a lot of respect and could provide some guidance for young talent.

It would be interesting to see what The Godfather can offer a new generation of stars in the promotion.

3. Jesse Ventura

WWE legend Jesse Ventura

Jesse Ventura has made numerous WWE appearances over the past couple of years as an analyst and commentator

In 2024, Jesse Ventura made his return to WWE as a special guest analyst on the Saturday Night’s Main Event revival.

For several months, Ventura served as an analyst alongside Joe Tessitore during the SNME shows.

However, Ventura might be better utilized by using his impressive talking ability to prop up a current talent on the WWE roster right now.

Ventura becoming a leader for someone rising on the roster will help them have the experience necessary to be ready to reach the mountaintop.

2. AJ Styles

Since closing out his career, Styles has re-signed with WWE as an ambassador and a coach at the Performance Center.

Working with the young talent in the company, Styles will have an influence on how far some of the stars will make it by giving them a path to succeed.

Considering any potential mentor-mentee relationships and the fact that his son Avery has started wrestling, it would not be surprising to see Styles make a return to an on-screen role as a manager in the near future.

1. Jake Roberts

Jake Roberts was most notably the manager of Lance Archer during his time in AEW

Signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2020, Jake Roberts was a manager to talent such as Lance Archer and La Faccion Ingobernables.

After an over five year run with the promotion, Roberts has officially left AEW and is now a free agent again.

Seeing his success in AEW, Roberts could be brought back to WWE to serve as a manager to one of the young stars on the roster.

With his always quality talking skills and presence as a legend, Roberts could potentially find more success as a manager in WWE than he was able to achieve during his time with AEW over the past few years.
