WWE continues to look for an enhanced schedule including big premium live events hosted in cities worldwide.

With the recent announcement of the return of Evolution – the all-female WWE PLE that has only ever taken place in 2018 until now – there are other former pay-per-view events that could also return.

Here are six more old WWE pay-per-views that could return.

6. Armageddon

WWE Armageddon was an event previously held annually in December between 1999 and 2008, marking the end of the calendar year.

However, in 2009, the event was then replaced by another annual tradition – the now-defunct pay-per-view, TLC.

Coupled with a Saturday Night’s Main Event in December to maximize intrigue amongst lapsed or casual fans around the holiday season, bringing back Armageddon could be a welcomed re-addition for nostalgic viewers.

It would at least be a better option than TLC, as Armageddon wouldn’t be bound to any particular gimmick matches.

5. In Your House

WWE NXT In Your House

Overall, the “In Your House” series of WWF events were quite enjoyable, but the inaugural 1995 edition was promoted by a sweepstakes to win an actual house.

While the Orlando, Florida home was won by an 11-year old (and sold shortly thereafter by the family), it would be a fun throwback to actually host a wrestling event – in someone’s house.

Given that there are plenty of very famous WWE fans with very cool houses at their disposal, the concept wouldn’t be as difficult to pull off as it may seem.

With some “matches” filmed in advance, there could be surprise pop-ups at the home of Logan Paul, a fight on the Wheatley American Vodka tour bus with Cody Rhodes, or another fictional location with advertiser crossover appeal.

4. Cyber Sunday

Known as both Cyber Sunday and Taboo Tuesday during the original iterations of the event, there was a common theme in both WWE specials – fans had the control.

Now able to leverage their fandom more than ever utilizing multiple forms of social media, WWE could definitely bring back the fan vote concept for a PLE.

Able to give over the reins to fans to book an entire show, it would be really cool to see multiple matches fully set up via fan vote – with of course the results of those matches still remaining under the control of Triple H.

With fans more engaged than ever with the WWE product on a worldwide scale, offering an annual opportunity to take over the booking could prove to be a fun way for fans to get involved.

3. Bragging Rights

With the Survivor Series PLE pivoting in recent years towards hosting WarGames matches, the past concept of brand warfare as been largely abandoned.

However, it could still be really fun to see the stars from WWE Raw, SmackDown and NXT go head-to-head.

Now with the acquisition of AAA by WWE as well as the partnership with TNA Wrestling and rumors of future international versions of NXT like NXT Europe, there could be a massive global battle at a future presentation of this specific PLE.

Creating another annual tradition for WWE fans to look forward to worldwide, the event could travel to fan voted destinations or some other non-traditional form of scouting an international PLE location.

2. Insurrextion

While WWE hosted this annual event from 2000-2003, it could definitely be re-invigorated for a modern audience.

Possibly bringing some mainstream media attention for the name – the altered spelling would definitely need to remain in place for any future iterations of the show.

The original run were all hosted from England, marking a separate event for the dates that were traditionally held in May.

With WWE continuing to visit Europe throughout the calendar year as well as the broadcast partnership with Netflix for international PLEs, it would make total sense to see this PLE return sometime soon.

1. Great Balls Of Fire

In one of the most interestingly named one-off WWE events, there was in fact a PLE/PPV named WWE Great Balls of Fire in 2017.

Back when PLEs would be brand specific, Great Balls of Fire only hosted matches from the WWE Raw brand at the time, headlined by a bout featuring Brock Lesnar defeating Samoa Joe.

However, the name would make a perfect title for a special edition PLE or even standalone episode of NXT.

Certainly able to be used as a summer themed event, there is no specific reason for the return other than it certainly gave us all a chuckle back in the day.
