Je’Von Evans WWE return plans after ambulance spot at Money in the Bank 2026: How will ‘The Young OG’ bounce back after storyline injury?

Je'Von Evans being sent off a ladder by Bron Breakker at WWE Money in the Bank 2026

Scary ladder spots aside, WWE Money in the Bank 2026 was overall a fun show, but some of WWE’s booking on the night has drawn criticism from portions of the fanbase.

Tiffany Stratton winning her second Money in the Bank over Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan reclaiming the Women’s World Title after a month without it and LA Knight once again failing to win the big one have been the key points many have taken issue with, and rightfully so.

While it is certainly more minor in the grand scheme of things, it could be argued that Je’Von Evans’ booking in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match deserves to be right up there with those aforementioned examples.

What happened?

For those that didn’t see it here’s a quick summary: Evans was cut in half by a Bron Breakker spear. He was then taken away in an ambulance. Later in the match – just when Bron Breakker appeared to have a clear path to the briefcase – Evans returned by driving the ambulance to the ring.

He then wiped out Breakker and, rather than grab any suitably sized ladder for the job of retrieving the briefcase (bearing in mind he’s at least 6ft 2, so any ladder would do), he struggled for what felt like five minutes to get a 15ft ladder set up. Then, rather than place it under the briefcase, Evans placed the ladder right by the ropes – something even Michael Cole and Corey Graves called out on commentary.

Evans was then, expectedly sent flying off the ladder and through the ambulance roof – which was, for some reason made of plywood.

While it was a crazy visual, the spot was set up so awkwardly that it killed the momentum of the finish and made Evans look like a bit of a dope.

It seems as if we won’t be seeing Evans return to TV immediately, as Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has only said that he hopes to have an update on “The Young OG” during tonight’s show in Bossier City.

Considering how silly the spot was, Evans is certainly going to be in need of some rehabilitation once he returns to WWE TV, and here are a few ways the company could go about that:

Je’Von Evans teams with Oba Femi to wipe out The Vision for good

With Bron Breakker being the one who sent Je’Von Evans packing twice during the Money in the Bank ladder match, it goes without saying that he should be doing everything in his power to get some revenge.

Another man who has recently found common ground with Evans in their hatred of The Vision is Oba Femi, and “The Ruler” just picked up a big win over Bronson Reed at Money in the Bank to deal a major blow to the group.

Femi once again set his sights on Roman Reigns during the Money in the Bank post-show, however, between a match with Sami Zayn at Crown Jewel and The Bloodline’s war with the 946, “The OTC” will likely have too much on his plate for the remainder of the year to deal with the Nigerian just yet.

With Femi likely getting sucked back into Vision business once again after Money in the Bank and Evans out for revenge, we could see the two unite, and perhaps even dethrone Breakker and Austin Theory as WWE World Tag Team Champions.

Je’Von Evans becomes youngest Intercontinental Champion ever

Speaking of championships, winning the Intercontinental Title is another way WWE could give Je’Von Evans a big shot in the arm towards the end of the year.

Now, Chad Gable is a great champion and thoroughly deserves a long reign. He has also not really got stuck into a proper feud yet for the title, so it feels like him losing it would be a bit premature. But maybe, in a few months time things might feel a little different.

Evans has previously pursued the Intercontinental Title, with a win making him the youngest person to ever hold the title – beating out Jeff Hardy’s long-standing record.

Hardy won the gold at 23 years old and 222 days, and Evans only turned 22 back in April, so he has plenty of time. That doesn’t mean WWE should wait too long either, as he could really do with a big win before the end of 2026.
