Throughout the 23-year history of the promotion, TNA Wrestling has signed numerous former WWE stars to come into the fold.

From Kurt Angle and Christian Cage to the most recent additions of Indi Hartwell and Nic Nemeth, these stars have added depth and brought plenty of name value to the promotion over the years.

Looking at the current free agent market, there are several former WWE stars who could potentially come into the company to make a difference immediately.

Here are nine former WWE stars to potentially sign with TNA Wrestling.

9. Wes Lee

WWE NXT star Wes Lee

On the November 13 edition of TNA IMPACT, The Rascalz issued a challenge to The System for a multi-man tag team match at the November 14 TNA Turning Point special.

With The System having four members of their group, Moose questioned who would team with Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel and Myron Reed in an eight-man tag team bout.

This is when Wentz let it be known that like The System, The Rascalz are a family as well and will be whole at Turning Point, making reference to recently released WWE star Wes Lee.

The former NXT North American Champion should be appearing alongside his former Rascalz stablemates in that huge eight-man tag at TNA Turning Point 2025 in Orlando.

8. Cedric Alexander

Ahead of TNA Slammiversary 2025, Cedric Alexander made his debut in the company and confronted his former rival Mustafa Ali.

Following this rivalry with Ali, Alexander has gone on to perform regularly for TNA Wrestling and even challenged Leon Slater for the X-Division Championship earlier this past summer.

Despite his regular appearances for the promotion, the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion is not currently signed with TNA.

Making things official since he has stuck around, it would make a ton of sense for TNA Wrestling to want to lock in Alexander moving forward and avoid him joining his former stablemates in the Hurt Syndicate over in AEW.

7. Duke Hanson (Duke Hudson)

Back in February 2025, Duke Hudson was quietly released from WWE after a six-year run with the promotion.

The former NXT Tag Team Champion has displayed his size and surprising athleticism throughout his time in WWE.

Now that he is a free agent, TNA Wrestling could bring in the former WWE star and look to place him in a role that he can shine in.

Now known as Duke Hanson, the former Chase U member could rise up the ranks in TNA Wrestling a lot faster than he did in WWE.

Ahead of the November 8 edition of AEW Collision, it was revealed that Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize had chosen to walk out of the show due to differences in regards to the timing of the match they were scheduled for.

Since being released by WWE in November 2024, Newell, formerly known as Tegan Nox, has not received too many bookings from around the wrestling world.

Now with this drama from AEW, Newell might be hard-pressed to find a new home, but TNA Wrestling might be some salvation for her.

Considering her skills and experience, Newell could help to bolster the TNA Knockouts division in a significant manner.

5. Braun Strowman

Arguably the biggest name included in the latest round of WWE talent cuts had to have been Braun Strowman.

The former WWE Universal Champion was one of the largest and most intimidating competitors on the entire roster for much of his two stints with the company.

Now that he is a free agent, Strowman is free to head to any promotion he would like, which might find him in TNA Wrestling.

With his list of career milestones and the star power he offers, TNA Wrestling should go out of their way to sign Braun Strowman and try to establish him among the main event talent on the roster.

4. Dakota Kai

Former WWE star Dakota Kai

The most surprising star that was released from WWE back in May 2025 was definitely Dakota Kai.

Viewed by many fans as one of the most underrated and underappreciated female stars in the business today, Kai has earned a reputation for being a consistent and reliable in-ring performer.

The former two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion has been able to fill a void for the women’s division on any brand she’s been on and could do the same for another promotion now.

Dakota Kai heading to TNA Wrestling would immediately make her one of the biggest female stars in the entire company right from the start of her run.

3. Matt Riddle

Former WWE star Matt Riddle

Ever since being released from WWE back in 2023, Matt Riddle has popped up and made a name for himself in other promotions.

Most notably in MLW, Riddle has shown himself to still have what it takes to be a top star for a pro wrestling company if given the chance.

The former WWE United States Champion has used his MMA background to become a successful pro wrestler and a decorated champion in multiple promotions.

Now feels like the right time for TNA Wrestling to bring in a ready made main eventer like Riddle who could become a world champion during his time in the company.

Following WWE SummerSlam 2025, Karrion Kross and Scarlett announced that their contracts with the company had expired and thus made them free agents.

Now back on the independent scene, fans have seen Kross and Scarlett become one of the most popular acts on the indies today.

Kross and Scarlett had a ton of momentum coming from their WWE run and have used it to their advantage since leaving.

Returning to TNA Wrestling, Kross and Scarlett would instantly feel like the hottest act in the company and could be propelled to the top of the promotion from day one back.

1. Chris Jericho

Former WWE Champion, AEW star Chris Jericho

During the most recent Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho talked with The Hardys and The Dudleys about their “One Final Table” match at TNA Bound For Glory 2025.

Complimenting the size of the audience in attendance, Jericho stated that the show looked to have a WWE-sized crowd, while the recent AEW shows from ECW Arena looked rather small in comparison.

After claiming the company looked like the second biggest promotion in the world, Jericho may have signalled that he will be leaving All Elite Wrestling at the end of the year and could head to TNA Wrestling instead of returning to WWE.

Jericho heading to TNA would immediately bring a bigger spotlight to the promotion and garner additional eyes on himself as well as his new home.
