Cody Rhodes Plans After WWE Survivor Series 2025

With Survivor Series 2025 fast approaching, Cody Rhodes has been occupied with the impending WarGames match up featuring an all-star line-up.

However, after the event is over it could become much more clear what the direction for the next few months is for Rhodes as WWE looks ahead to the road to WrestleMania 42.

Here are six possible future plans for Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes after Survivor Series 2025.

6. Feud With Brock Lesnar

If reports prove true, it seems that there will be a showdown in the near future between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar.

The adverts already revealed for WrestleMania 42 feature Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes seated on one side of a poker table with Brock Lesnar and CM Punk seated across from them.

With speculation that the plans could be Roman Reigns facing off against CM Punk or Cody Rhodes — perhaps it will end up actually being another round of Rhodes versus Lesnar.

While Lesnar and Rhodes already had a series of bouts back in 2023, it could be that 2026 holds an entirely different kind of showdown for the now Undisputed WWE Champion.

5. Another Match With Drew McIntyre

While Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes may have faced off Wrestlepalooza and Saturday Night’s Main Event in title matches, both times Cody managed to escape with his title.

However, it could be that they could meet up yet again with McIntyre unlikely to end his quest for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

With the ability to have an interesting side story involving Randy Orton — who does not need to turn heel on Rhodes but rather will ratchet up the tension by the possibility of betrayal — there could be some compelling storytelling on the road to WrestleMania 42.

Able to incorporate characters that have nothing to do with his eventual WrestleMania 42 story, it could end up being far more shocking to see Brock Lesnar suddenly reappear than just start their feud now.

4. Teaming With Jacob Fatu

While storylines continue to shake out on the road to WrestleMania, it could be that a side quest stands between Cody and his next big challenger.

One potential alliance that could kill some time as well as benefit everyone involved would be to join forces with a returning Jacob Fatu.

The juxtaposition between the two characters is not only very funny — it could also capture a ton of fan goodwill.

With the ability for the trio of Orton, Rhodes and Fatu to face off against Drew McIntyre and The Vision or for just Cody & Jacob to take on Drew McIntyre and Aleister Black — there could be some interesting moves through the holiday season.

3. Blindsided By Roman Reigns

It is entirely affable version of Roman Reigns that has presented in recent memory can quickly evaporate in an instant.

With Reigns in need of a potential WrestleMania 42 opponent, perhaps it will end up being Rhodes vs. Reigns 3 at the upcoming Las Vegas event.

Possibly involving an appearance from The Final Boss again, there could always end up being a stage set for WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh to finally see the showdown between The Rock and Roman Reigns.

While Rhodes and Reigns currently have a tenuous working relationship, it could be that the tide turns quickly between the two by the end of 2025.

2. Rematch With Aleister Black

One fairly recent feud that has been left with some intrigue that could lead to another showdown with Cody is Aleister Black.

While they already met for a title match on SmackDown, there wouldn’t be a conclusive winner after a full fracas kicked off.

Instead, the match ended in a no contest when there was an interference from Drew McIntyre. While an eventual brawl broke out that included Black, Rhodes, McIntyre and Damian Priest, the title remained with Rhodes.

Interestingly not having been beaten by Cody, perhaps Black could resume targeting the Undisputed WWE Champion after Survivor Series 2025 has concluded.

1. Challenged By Carmelo Hayes

If Cody Rhodes did need a side quest challenger, there could be a perfect opportunity for Carmelo Hayes to capitalize on recent momentum.

After putting on a solid performance in the Last Time Is Now tournament to determine who would be the last to face John Cena, Hayes definitely surprised some main roster fans who missed his NXT title reigns.

Demonstrating a huge amount of untapped potential, Hayes challenging Cody for a short program could be the perfect interim step.

Possibly leading to the call-up of Trick Williams to reunite with Melo in opposite of the Undisputed WWE Champion, there could be a lot of great in-ring work showcased on the road to WrestleMania.
