While WWE traditionally doesn’t reveal its Hall of Fame plans until the beginning of the year, fans were given an unexpectedly early announcement last year when Stephanie McMahon was confirmed as the 2026 headliner during the September 2025 Wrestlepalooza premium live event.
It’s unclear whether WWE will again reveal their top billing inductee early or not, but considering it is, at least, a possibility, it’s time to look at which names could be chosen for next year’s class.
Here are three Attitude Era stars who could potentially be inducted into the 2027 WWE Hall of Fame:
Shane McMahon
Some fans may roll their eyes at the prospect of a third straight WWE Hall of Fame class being headlined by a McMahon family member, but when it comes to Shane McMahon, it’s certainly hard to argue against it.
Whether a heel or a babyface, Shane-O-Mac was always respected by fans for the risks he was willing to take inside the ring; many of which came during the Attitude Era.
Who can forget his famous fall from the top of the titantron at SummerSlam 2000, his leap onto Big Show from a similarly scary height at Backlash 2001, or his hard to watch Street Fight with Kurt Angle at King of the Ring that same year? For his work as a talent and behind the scenes, Shane certainly deserves a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Ken Shamrock
Despite only being with WWE for two years, Ken Shamrock is still fondly remembered by those that tuned into WWE TV every week during the Attitude Era.
Bringing intensity and legitimacy that has arguably only been equalled by Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle, Shamrock added to his legacy in mixed martial arts, by becoming a two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion and 1998 King of the Ring.
Had he stayed longer than two years, Shamrock may have eventually become a world champion in WWE; although there’s certainly an argument that the company should have pulled the trigger on a major push for ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ within his maiden year in the company. Regardless of the what-ifs, Shamrock still stands as one of the most memorable Attitude era characters, and deserving of a Hall of Fame spot.
Chyna
While she has already been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of D-Generation X, ‘The Ninth Wonder of the World’ Chyna is certainly worthy of her own spot in the Hall of Fame.
While the majority of women were treated only as eye candy in the Attitude Era, Chyna was standing toe-to-toe with the men between the ropes; breaking new ground by becoming the first woman to enter the Royal Rumble match and only woman to win the Intercontinental Championship.
Triple H said during the WrestleMania 41 press conference that Chyna getting a solo Hall of Fame induction was “definitely” happening, so this seems to be a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if.’
