After a historic surprise return to WWE, AJ Lee competed in a mixed tag match with her husband CM Punk and then has disappeared.
While she is certainly plotting a return, there are several ways that the former Divas Champion could make her way back into the storyline fold in the near future.
Here are five potential return plans for AJ Lee in WWE.
5. Intercontinental Championship vs. Becky Lynch
While the team of AJ Lee and CM Punk beat Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins at Wrestlepalooza 2025, there is seemingly still a showdown brewing.
With the exchanges between Lee & Lynch seemingly far from over, it would make sense to see them tangle again in the near future.
AJ Lee could have her sights set on making history by becoming the third woman to ever win the women’s WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Likely able to stretch their rivalry into the new year, it would seem unlikely that the title will change hands anytime soon but definitely their run-ins aren’t over yet.

4. Lead Babyface WarGames Team
Perhaps the most likely actual return for AJ Lee will be to bring her feud against Lynch along for the ride for the next installment of the recent Survivor Series staple, WarGames.
With her feud against Lynch still very active, it would make sense then to see Lee join forces with the other babyfaces in Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY.
While Becky Lynch’s heel team would make sense to then contain Asuka and Kairi Sane, the last two participants in each side remain unclear but with a rumored direction.
According to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, the plan is for Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss to round out the babyface team with Nia Jax and Lash Legend joining the heels.

3. Challenge Tiffany Stratton At Saturday Night’s Main Event
While the Survivor Series WarGames match is looming down the line, first there is the November 1 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Although the rumored opponent for Tiffany Stratton to have a WWE Women’s Championship title defense is said to be Jade Cargill, there could be a fun swerve.
Pivoting and having AJ Lee challenge Tiffany Stratton could be an intriguing way to kick off a massive intergenerational rivalry.
After already successfully defending the title against Trish Stratus, perhaps Stratton’s next big challenge is an entirely different kind of Diva.

2. Help Bayley Find Herself
If there is anyone on the WWE Raw roster that could benefit most from a partnership with AJ Lee, it might be Bayley.
With Bayley seemingly having a slow character transformation, AJ Lee could be a helpful on-screen character.
Since AJ Lee is a notable mental health advocate, she could look to mentor Bayley in harnessing her own super powers.
Helping Bayley accept both sides of her personality to integrate them into a brand new character could be a task that only AJ Lee could truly pull off.

1. Tag Team With Nikki Bella
In an unexpected alliance, perhaps the two returning legends could end up uniting on WWE Raw.
One of AJ Lee’s most memorable moments in her first WWE run included her own iteration of the CM Punk pipe bomb by which she delivered a vicious dressing down of the cast of Total Divas, including Bella.
While the partnership seems unlikely, there could be a very good reason for the two former Divas Champions to connect in 2025.
With Nikki Bella recently joining forces with Stephanie Vaquer to fend off the Judgment Day duo of Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez, it could actually be that foursome that ends up on AJ Lee’s WarGames team after all.
