AEW Tag Teams Splitting Up Soon

Share

AEW's Bang Bang Gang

With an abundance of tag teams in AEW, there could be some break-ups on the horizon as individual members chase their own goals.

From injured stars that could return with a new attitude, to partnerships that have seemingly just run their course, there are some compelling options for tag teams that could split soon.

Here are five AEW tag teams that could be splitting up soon.

5. Bang Bang Gang

One group that could end up falling apart just when they finally get back together could be the Bang Bang Gang.

With Jay White and Colten Gunn out of action due to injury, it seems that when White returns, there could be a new character iteration coming along with him to AEW.

However, while the fun has lasted in his absence, it would make total sense to see Jay White return and shortly thereafter, break the group apart.

Potentially joining forces with just Juice Robinson, the duo could turn on Ace Austin and The Gunns or in the end, the “Switchblade”could end up going it alone.

4. The Matriarchy (Nick Wayne & Kip Sabian)

When Nick Wayne was last seen in AEW, he was in a tag team with Kip Sabian called The Matriarchy after their split from Christian Cage’s Patriarchy.

However after being out of action due to injury since August, Wayne recently made a reappearance late last month in Ring of Honor.

Continuing to carry the ROH Television Championship, Nick Wayne could be poised to return to AEW on his own.

Possibly jumping back into the scene in AEW in a new alliance or as a singles star, having a fall out with Kip Sabian on-screen could tie up loose ends.

3. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen)

After disappearing in January 2025, Private Party made a big return last month albeit to pick up a loss.

While there was plenty of speculation regarding their future in AEW amid their absence, perhaps Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy could solidify themselves in the company away from one another.

While there have been no signs of this yet, a break-up storyline could see Quen and Kassidy forge new tag teams with different partners, even if it ultimately leads to them coming back together in the end.

Able to have an interesting singles feud that is more wacky than it is violent, Private Party could find themselves going through their own break-up and make-up story on the road to AEW All In: London 2026 this summer.

2. SkyFlight

One group that has stuck together has been SkyFlight, the group consisting of Christopher Daniels as a managerial presence and a host of charismatic talent.

Anchored by Darius & Dante Martin as well as Scorpio Sky, the group has seen success as a group over the past year.

With new member Zayda Steel being added to the group in the absence of Leila Grey, there could still be a fall out within the male members of the group.

With Sky possibly turning on his faction mates in order to chase singles success, perhaps it is time for him to take flight from the faction.

1. Paid In Full (Big Bill & Bryan Keith)

While brought together under The Learning Tree of Chris Jericho, despite the curious case of the latter’s disappearance — Paid In Full has pressed on.

With Big Bill and Bryan Keith continuing in tag team action together, there could be a break-up brewing that could be catalyst to a feud between the pair.

Since both stars boast impressive in-ring skills, their individual styles could lend well to joining other factions or forging their own path.

With it seeming less and less likely that Chris Jericho will be returning to AEW, it may make sense to see Big Bill and Bryan Keith finally part ways.
