AEW Stars To Leave Factions

With some movement among the AEW roster, many wrestlers could be set to leave their current factions and begin afresh.

From potentially trimming down the massive Don Callis Family to other departures that seem all but a done deal — there could be some factions losing members soon.

Here are six AEW stars that could be set to leave their current factions.

6. Powerhouse Hobbs

While AEW fans that catch the weekly TV episodes across Dynamite and Collision may be aware that Hobbs has lost the AEW Trios Championship — those that have been keeping an eye on the AEW roster page will know he departed AEW altogether after dropping the gold.

With reports online that his contract with AEW had come to an end, Hobbs looks set for a brand new start in WWE.

Seemingly likely to make a debut in WWE in the near future with reports stating that the former TNT Champion has already signed with the company, it remains to be seen how a potential departure will play out in storyline.

Whether or not The Opps will write Hobbs off of TV or whether he might just disappear, Powerhouse Hobbs will be missed in the faction.

5. Daniel Garcia

One AEW star that has seen some major character shifts over the past year is Daniel Garcia.

Joining up with the Death Riders officially in September 2025, it doesn’t seem as though the affiliation has done a ton to raise Garcia’s stock overall as a competitor.

While this time last year he had come off of a successful Continental Classic appearance and captured the TNT Championship — he’s most recently been appearing in tag team action with Wheeler Yuta in AEW and ROH.

Garcia remains a compelling technical wrestler that fans want to intrinsically root for so perhaps he will be sprung free the Death Riders in the near future.

4. Konosuke Takeshita

A possible departure from a faction by way of a babyface turn could be that of Konosuke Takeshita.

Unlike other members of the group who could depart from the faction but maintain their dastardly ways, it seems that Takeshita could be on the verge of turning babyface.

After snubbing Don Callis’ attempts at a hug last week on Collision in favor of embracing stablemate Kyle Fletcher, Takeshita might find new footing in 2026.

Already on a successful run as a heel, it could be that a babyface turn becomes catalyst for something even bigger for the star as AEW continues to grow his presence in NJPW and CMLL.

3. Jay White

While he has been out of action since March 2025, it could be that “Switchblade” Jay White makes his return soon to AEW TV.

When Jay White does make his return to AEW after injury, it would make total sense to see him reunite with his Bang Bang Gang buddies — unless something entirely different were to occur.

Certainly able to have a legendary feud with Juice Robinson (who has been overall underutilized since returning from injury), the pair could end up putting on a fantastic match.

With The Gunns potentially split down the middle in regards to where they lend their support, it could be a proper ending for the popular faction.

2. Kyle Fletcher

One split from the giant Don Callis Family faction that could be coming in 2026 is the departure of Kyle Fletcher.

While his departure from the Family wouldn’t necessarily need to lead to him turning babyface, he could just rather be ousted from the group.

Certainly with plenty of members in the squad, the roster sits at fifteen total members if you include Andrade El Idolo, Brian Cage, El Clon, Hechicero, Jake Doyle, Josh Alexander, Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher, Lance Archer, Mark Davis, Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta, Wardlow and of course, Don Callis himself.

With Fletcher able to be turned on by his group but not particularly have anything redeeming about his overall character, he could just end up moving along to pick fights with new foes.

1. Kevin Knight

AEW star Kevin Knight

A potential break-up that could be coming soon to AEW might be Kevin Knight departing his JetSpeed tag team.

While there certainly haven’t been any specific reports noting that there could be a shift up ahead for Kevin Knight — there are some subtle teases that perhaps Knight will be turning heel soon.

With his recent interaction with Swerve Strickland becoming the latest example of Knight clearly wanting to combat being underestimated, it could be that a new more violent side is exposed through his bout with Strickland.

Certainly able to break hearts if he were to flat out betray his JetSpeed tag team partner Speedball Mike Bailey, there could be a massive feud on the rise between them in 2026.
