With several big AEW stars out of action for various reasons, there could be several returns coming soon at Revolution 2026.
From long absences to others who haven’t been seen in only a few months, several fun returns could arise in Los Angeles at the event on pay-per-view.
Here are five absent AEW stars that could return at Revolution 2026.
5. Buddy Matthews

AEW star Buddy Matthews has been out of action since suffering a complex ankle injury back at AEW Grand Slam 2025, but has recently found his name coming up.

Potentially coming back into action at some point in the near future, Matthews could find himself making a triumphant return at AEW Revolution.
While there hasn’t been a firm timeline for Matthews return revealed, it could be that his eventual return will come as a total surprise.

2. Nick Wayne

A return that has already happened on ROH TV is that of 20-year old Nick Wayne.
Having been out of action since before Forbidden Door 2025, Nick Wayne returned during an ROH taping on February 21 – defending his ROH World Television Title against Lucas Riley.
While he’s now back in the mix in ROH, Wayne could still potentially be brought back into the fold in AEW, potentially even joining up with former tormentor, Swerve Strickland.
While Strickland has begun creeping more and more towards his former dark side, it could make sense for him to bring around someone that he has existing history with.

1. Mercedes Moné

Last seen in AEW on December 31, 2025 when she lost the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale, it may be that Mercedes Moné is on her way back to AEW in the near future.
