This year’s WWE SummerSlam is almost here.
While the winds of change are blowing within the company, the biggest party of the summer will most likely be influenced by that.
Speculation has been running wild on which outside names could be part of the show to underline that WWE is indeed changing.
In this list, we will check out eight potential returns and analyze their likelihoods as we go on.
Also, while we have analyzed their likelihoods with some realism in mind, do keep in mind that, ultimately, this is just a bit of fun, so don’t take them too seriously.
8. Bray Wyatt

The Fiend Bray Wyatt has not been seen on WWE television since April 2021, and he was released the following July.
Almost immediately fans began speculating about his next step in pro wrestling.
Unfortunately, Wyatt has not found a new home, keeping a low profile apart from the occasional interaction on Twitter.
Will tonight be the night where The Fiend returns? Highly unlikely to say the least.
There is nothing that indicates Wyatt to return to WWE this fast after Vince McMahon is gone.
Return Likelihood: 20%
7. Tyler Breeze

“Part man but all model”, was part of the lyrics to Tyler Breeze’s theme song.
When Max Dupri’s Maximum Male Models were introduced on SmackDown a lot of fans were sad that Tyler Breeze is not part of the group.
The NXT Original (therefore likely in Triple H’s good books) has not been under a talent contract for a while, but, he is still with WWE as part of their UpUpDownDown Gaming YouTube channel.
To try and answer the question if SummerSlam going to be the show where Breeze returns to WWE: Maybe.
Return Likelihood: 30%
6. Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair has not been factored into WWE’s plans for SummerSlam on TV.
The queen married AEW star Andrade recently. While Andrade has been back on TV, Flair has yet to make a comeback.
The former multi-time women’s champion has been teased to appear for tomorrow’s “Ric Flair’s Last Match” event.
Both shows are going to take place in Nashville. Therefore it would be easy to feature Charlotte on both shows.
According to Dave Meltzer, she should be ready to make a grand return rather soon.
Return Likelihood: 75%
5. Sasha Banks & Naomi

This is one is a difficult one. The now former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Naomi and Sasha Banks were thought to be gone for good.
But with Vince McMahon retired, this opens up a lot more possibilities.
Remember: Triple H is the one to bring back Bruno Sammartino after decades of disputes between him and McMahon.
The chances are higher than ever to talk things through and bring back two of the most popular stars that WWE had prior to their walkout.
However, just because the chances are higher than ever, doesn’t mean it’s particularly likely, as there are likely a lot of hoops to go through. Let’s say 50/50.
Return Likelihood: 50%
4. Edge

Edge would be back already if it was not for WWE’s last-minute canceling of his flight to WWE Raw.
It is not quite clear yet why this happened yet. But Edge’s return has been hyped with incredible vignettes since Money in the Bank.
Most likely this was all just a change of plans to move the Rated R Superstar’s return to the big stage that is WWE SummerSlam.
Return Likelihood: 99%
3. Bayley

Ding Dong Hello! The WWE audience has not heard a word from Bayley for over a year.
In fact, Bayley has not been back wrestling since fans fully returned to WWE arenas.
Currently, there is no update on Bayley’s status for tonight’s show. Imagine the pop if Bayley makes a return at SummerSlam.
After her torn ACL she should be healthy by now, though. Only one question remains: How will Bayley splash back onto the scene?
Return Likelihood: 60%
2. Johnny Gargano

The Rebel Heart has not stepped inside of a wrestling ring since he left WWE earlier this year, where he was brutally attacked by Grayson Waller on NXT 2.0.
On his Twitch stream last night he addressed rumors that he might return to WWE post Triple H taking over WWE creative.
He claimed that he is in TV shape and ready to go, but would not exactly say what his next move is going to be.
Surely Johnny didn’t just get in TV shape because he is bored.
Return Likelihood: 70%
1. Goldberg

But of course, there is someone that is going to make an even bigger return than Johnny Gargano at SummerSlam.
Imagine this. Brock Lesnar does not show up last minute and here we go. Bill Goldberg storms towards the ring.
Okay, unlikely, but just imagine it…
He already claimed that he is ready to go and also he is still under a WWE contract.
Whoever is next, it might be sooner than later when all of us are going to find out.
But realistically, will it be at SummerSlam tonight? Probably not. But maybe…
Return Likelihood: 40%
