WWE SmackDown has seen its fair share of roster additions and other stars leaving over the past year.

Whether it be the arrivals of Drew McIntyre, Rey Fenix and Giulia or the returns of John Cena and Charlotte Flair, the blue brand has fleshed out its roster greatly throughout 2025.

With just a few months remaining before the end of the year, there are still some shakeups that SmackDown could undergo in the coming weeks ahead.

Here are seven potential changes to WWE SmackDown.

7. Loss Of LA Knight

Over the past few months, fans have seen LA Knight showing up more often over on Monday Night Raw during his feud with Seth Rollins and The Vision.

Since getting called up from WWE NXT to the main roster in 2022, Knight has been a member of the SmackDown roster over the past three years.

Recently, WWE’s website has moved Knight to be listed on the Monday Night Raw roster page, indicating his move to the brand looks to be official.

After a lengthy presence on Friday night, “The Megastar” will be missed on WWE SmackDown and will leave a spot open for someone to step up and fill.

6. Bianca Belair Returns

WWE's Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair has been on the sidelines with a broken finger ever since facing IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 41.

Despite making a few appearances since then, Belair has not been medically cleared to compete over the past few months.

After recent reports indicated that her return has been discussed, “The EST of WWE” could be on her way back, which could have a major impact on the SmackDown women’s division.

Belair making her return to WWE SmackDown could set the stage for some intriguing future matchups with the likes of Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte Flair or Jade Cargill.

5. Brock Lesnar Is Back For John Cena

At WWE SummerSlam 2025 Night Two, Brock Lesnar shocked the world by making his return to the company for the first time in two years.

Laying out John Cena with a F-5, “The Beast Incarnate” made a statement that he was back and coming after his longtime rival in the record breaking 17-time WWE World Champion.

Lesnar and Cena’s long and storied rivalry dates back to their days together in OVW before making their way to WWE where the two men fought over gold and bled buckets inside the squared circle.

With a match being teased for the upcoming WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025 event live for the first time on ESPN, Brock could be on his way back to SmackDown where he will undoubtedly try to attack Cena in a similar fashion to SummerSlam.

4. Sami Zayn Joins Roster To Go After Solo Sikoa & The MFTs

On the August 15 edition of WWE SmackDown, Sami Zayn revealed that he had officially been moved to the blue brand to pursue Solo Sikoa’s United States Championship.

The week prior saw Zayn pick up a victory over his former Bloodline stablemate and thus earned himself a shot at Solo’s US gold.

Sikoa and his new group, the MFTs, have been running roughshod over the SmackDown brand throughout 2025.

With Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso already in a war with the MFTs, they now have a new competitor who will fight by their side in Sami Zayn that should create some exciting possibilities on SmackDown moving forward.

3. Tama Tonga Returns To Reunite With MFTs

WWE star Tama Tonga

Since taking over The Bloodline in 2024, Solo Sikoa has been one of the focal points of the WWE SmackDown brand. The first member of his New Bloodline became former seven-time IWGP Tag Team Champion Tama Tonga.

After spending a year in WWE, Tonga went down with an undisclosed injury that has kept him sidelined for the past few months.

In his absence, Solo has created a new group after losing the ula fala as “The Tribal Chief.” Solo and the MFTs have put together a physically intimidating group, consisting of JC Mateo, Tonga Loa and Talla Tonga.

Tama returning and joining his brothers in the MFTs makes the most sense in the group’s ongoing feud with former Bloodline members Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu.

2. Ethan Page Joins Chelsea Green On SmackDown

Over the past few weeks, fans have seen Ethan Page get some backup in pushing the values of being from Canada in SmackDown’s Chelsea Green and The Secret Hervice.

With the chemistry that Page and Green have displayed together, WWE could think about putting this act over on the main roster.

Using the entertainment these two provide together and bringing it to the masses, Chelsea will have a more prominently featured position on the roster, while Page can use this as a vehicle to get to the main roster.

Over on WWE SmackDown, the current NXT North American Champion would have the opportunity to mix it up with stars up and down the card whether it be Rey Fenix or Cody Rhodes.

1. Jade Cargill Targets Giulia’s WWE Women’s United States Championship

At WWE SummerSlam 2025 Night One, Tiffany Stratton defeated Jade Cargill to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.

Since then, Cargill has attempted to plead her case for a rematch for the title, but she has also been getting recruited for the services of Kiana James, who is the new representative for Giulia.

The reigning WWE Women’s United States Champion has interacted and stared down with Cargill over the past few weeks on SmackDown.

A collision course between Cargill and Giulia for the title would help to put a spotlight on the title scene and the WWE SmackDown women’s division overall.
